Classroom noisy, door didn't close completely, only 1 toilet. For me, it was a shame that I wasn't in the right course (level) for the first two weeks. Little benefit there.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
For me, should I book a language study trip again, I would like to know more about the host family in advance. I could have gone to a hotel or B&B and probably had more opportunity to speak English. It clearly didn't meet my expectations. A great pity.

I can't judge the nightlife, as I also studied in the evening. For cycling ok, it's all flat. Traffic pretty considerate. Cycle paths great.
Cambridge as a city ok, certainly not my preferred city.

as already mentioned, very unfortunate that I had lost a majority of 2 weeks because I was placed in the wrong level. I was also a bit annoyed because I had clearly written that I was a beginner.
Afterwards, the remaining 3 weeks were very good.
Accommodation
Prepared or cooked meals themselves. I also bought most of the vegetables and fruit myself. Host family very nice, but hardly spoke to me. Never saw them in the morning, they often came home late in the evening. Mould in washing machine, black mould in bathroom, mattress quite worn (some metal springs noticeable). House not well ventilated, which increases mould.

Culfford is a lovely school (boarding school where some junior courses are held), I know it very well as I had a place to enter in the school when i lived in the UK, finally came back to France

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Word sorry is the best way to dismiss beggars. They harassed me almost every day until one of the teachers told me to say sorry and go on. From this day i didn't have problems with them.

Museums, collages, churches. I would like to mention Daxfort air museum which i guess is not a part of Cambridge even if it is close to it but i was there and i loved it.

I was really glad to not have a curfew.

This branch school is small and you will get to know everyone from the administration to the teachers very well. The location is not too far from Cambridge station and is in the center of the city.
Negative aspects
Nothing in particular. If I had to say only one thing, the office manager could have been a little more responsive to my e-mails during our pre-arrival correspondence. But after meeting her, I recognized that she was very friendly and wonderful, and provided me with lots of support!
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Grammar terms are also taught in English (past perfect, etc.). Therefore, if you lightly review the grammar you learned at junior and senior high school in Japan, you may be able to understand the lessons faster and greatly improve your ability even during your short stay.

City/place
It is a wonderful place. First of all, it is very safe. The people are polite and generous, and the overall atmosphere is more economically well off than in other cities. It is a moderately small, rural town, but when it comes to shopping, there are many upscale and renowned stores, probably due to the large number of tourists. The old town center is spectacular. However, it is not the most exciting or glamorous city. You can get to London in an hour by train, so it would be nice to visit from time to time.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The course is a very good blend of grammar and practice, and if you are serious about learning it, you will grow wonderfully. I could get used to English through practice and improve my score in IELTS and various other certification exams through grammar. You can study both. I learned a lot of things in this course, and it made me realize that I need to do both to improve my English skills.
Accommodation
The facilities are excellent considering the price. There was one shared kitchen for every six private bedrooms. The size of the private room is about 4 tatami mats and the shower room is small, but that's normal for a student's room. The housing experience is very depending on your neighbors. Fortunately, in my case, I didn't face any terrible noise or people who used the kitchen in a messy way, and I was able to spend a comfortable time.
