Your course will build your confidence and accuracy in all forms of the language. You will receive extensive training in examination techniques, and sit at least one mock examination. Your speaking abilities will be personally assessed by senior members of the teaching staff on most courses.
All Cambridge English Teachers at BEET have many years of experience delivering the preparation courses, so you can be assured that the school has extensive knowledge of the requirements of the Cambridge English examining board.

On the first day, you are given a comprehensive test to identify your exact level. You are then placed in a class of students at your level, all preparing for the same examination. For some Cambridge English exams there may be several “micro-levels”, each at a slightly different level from the others, and ranging from ‘C’ to ‘A’ grade expectations.
Your course will build your confidence and accuracy in all forms of the language. You will receive extensive training in examination techniques, and sit at least one mock examination. Your speaking will abilities will be personally assessed by senior members of the teaching staff on most courses.
All Cambridge English teachers at BEET have many years of experience delivering the preparation courses, so you can be assured that we have extensive knowledge of the requirements of the Cambridge English examining board.

IELTS is an increasingly popular examination, taken by people who want to work or study in an English-speaking country. If you would like to study at a university in the UK, the USA, or Australia, or gain an internationally recognised qualification, then IELTS Preparation is the course for you.
The test can be taken every month in various centres across the UK. All applications are now submitted online, we are of course very happy to assist you with this process.
Here at BEET you’re able to follow the main programme of 20 lessons (15 hours) per week, but if you would like to study more and improve your chances of success in the exam, you can also study 24 lessons (18 hours) or 28 lessons (21 hours) per week on our Options Programme.
What score do I need?
Typically, you will need 5.0/6.5 for an undergraduate course, although a 4.5/5.5 might be sufficient for a Foundation Course or a Pre-Master’s/Pre-Sessional course. It is important to know the score required by the university where you are going to study. This will be shown on the university’s offer letter.
How long do I need?
Students learn at different speeds. Some may move from 5.0 to 5.5 in just six weeks; others might take 12 weeks to make the same progress. Being aware of how quickly you learn languages will help you decide how long to study for.
If you have not already taken IELTS, BEET has a test, which we can send to you before you enrol. Your result will help us to advise you how long your course should be. Talk to us about the best option for you.

We choose our homestays very carefully, both for the facilities they have to offer and their ability to make you feel welcome. As a member of the household, you will be eating together and sharing the common living areas. Living in a homestay gives you the opportunity to improve your English at home, too.
If you are under 18, you will need to stay with a BEET homestay family. Please find out more about how we care for our Students Under 18.
