  1. Can study for a minimum period of 2 weeks
     This is a course for students who come to Japan with a visa status other than a college student visa and study Japanese for as little as 2 weeks. This course is also available for those who wish to stay in Japan for more than one year on a working holiday visa or Japanese spouse visa. In the Short-Term General Japanese Course, students can systematically learn language behaviors (“listening,” “reading,” “speaking,” and “writing”) and language knowledge (“vocabulary” and “grammar”) according to their Japanese language level, so that they can learn Japanese well even in a short period of time.
     
     
  2. Enrollment is open 4 times a year
     For those that are absolute beginners, please enter at the beginning of any of the April, July, October and January terms. Those with experience in Japanese may enter the middle of terms as well. In this case, please take a preliminary Level Check Test so we can assign you to a class that matches with your Japanese skills.
     

Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

  1. Enrollment is open 4 times a year
     Admissions are four times a year at the Takadanobaba, Ikebukuro, and Kyoto campuses (April, July, October, and January). Nagano campus admissions are twice a year in April and October.
     
     
  2. The Academic Year begins in April
     In accordance with the standard schedule of the Japanese education system, our school year generally begins in April. From April to March of the Following year comprises a school year. The following second year subsequently begins the next April to the next March.
     
     
  3. Class teacher system
     There is a homeroom teacher for each class, so students can always consult with them in regards to problems related to learning and school life. Each school has a special area for consultation, so you can feel security in your personal conversations.
     
     
  4. Full career support
     If you enroll from the beginner level, your personal teacher will provide an individual interview in October of the first year (intermediate and above levels may begin immediately). Following this, you can receive regular career guidance meetings every three months. In addition to regular interviews, you can also apply for interviews with your teacher at any time you feel it necessary. Each campus also has a career advisor who specializes in career guidance. In cooperation with your teachers, we will do our utmost to support students who hope to go on to higher education as well as those who wish to work.
     
     
  5. Elective classes to meet your needs
     Beginning at the Intermediate II level, elective classes will be offered twice a week (90 minutes per class). Students can choose classes from the following options: Graduate School Preparation, EJU Exam Preparation (University/Vocational School Preparation), JLPT Exam Preparation, Conversation, and Job Hunting, according to their future plans and study objectives after graduation. Students can learn more practical content to meet their needs.
     
     
  6. Meaningful Activities
     As part of off-campus learning and as an opportunity for international exchange, each school at the ISI Group conducts various events.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss Before departure provides all the necessary information. Perhaps it would be useful is some more information about the accommodation. In my accommodation (Shinjuku) I thought there was a free Internet connection, but when I arrived I discovered that it was necessary to have your own router. And in the kitchen (which is a common area) you can cook but everyone has their own personal pots, etc... However, these inaccuracies have not caused problems since routers and kitchen utensils are easily available since the accommodation is located in a fairly central position, and also the other guys in the apartment are very kind and helpful!

Other comments The school is really fantastic and is in a great location. In the area there are several shops and restaurants and Takadanobaba Station is a 5-minute walk away and is on the metro line that can be used to reach all the more interesting and amusing areas of the city!
