How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school

Location: Trieste Language School is located in the capital city of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy, Trieste. A port city, Trieste offers much history and medieval and neoclassical touches throughout. Trieste Language School is centrally located, ensuring students can enjoy the area to its fullest. The school is housed in the historic city centre, within a moment's walk of fascinating sites such as the Trieste Roman Amphitheatre, Piazza della Borsa, Piazza Unità d'Italia, several museums, the port and much more. There are also many amenities, eateries, cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.

Course selection: The school provides a range of General Italian courses which are taught in a group, individually or in combination programmes of both. Group programmes are available to students of all levels, with specific starting dates for complete beginners.

Getting around: The most used public transport in the city is the bus, as this is the only on-land public transport that moves within the city. The closest bus stop is within 200m of the school's front doors. Trieste train station is within a 20-minute walk of the school.

Accommodation: Homestay accommodation with local host families can be arranged via the school and is subject to availability.

Social and cultural: Trieste has a vast history. Due to its location close to the borders of Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Hungary, there are many Slovenian and Austro-Hungarian influences seen throughout the city.
  • The language school Trieste Language School was founded in Trieste, Italy in 1995.

Student opinions about Trieste Language School, Trieste

Liked
Location is magical - right next to a church (classrooms are filled with religious paintings) and kindergarten, very close to city's main square - Piazza dell'Unita. The teachers were engaging, invested and made sure the classess were diverse and entertaining. The whole staff was very kind. Social activities programme was great!

The school is well located, the teachers are for the most part very good, speak slowly and clearly. Which is very advantageous for beginners. The excursions in the afternoons were varied. I can recommend the school to others. If there were any problems or queries, I always received support.
Disliked
I had booked a 2 week language course. Unfortunately, the lessons in the first week did not meet my requirements. After I reported this, the lessons were adjusted. So this "negative" point is also positive again :)

The teachers, especially Anna and Marina, who accompanied and excellently guided the afternoon excursions. They were also always helpful, thoughtful and very patient.
Disliked
It was very cold in the classrooms. However, one could counteract this with warm clothing. (I think it is actually very right that there is no heating in May - if only because of energy saving/environmental protection).
One star less for organisation: On the first day, a lot of class time was lost because many people - including me - still had to pay. Maybe we should have been called in half an hour earlier. Or insist on payment in advance.
I often didn't like the group work because the rooms had very strong reverberation effects, so that I heard the other groups too loudly and sometimes had trouble concentrating. (Possibly also due to my age)
