Information about Germany

No matter whether you seek an adrenaline-fueled foray on the autobahn or a leisurely ride on its latest-generation trains, Germany is a land that demands exploration. Walk through the old town, full of history, and enjoy the mixture of Renaissance and Baroque in Schloss Neuschwanstein. Or walk around the streets of Munich and Hamburg, filled with fancy restaurants, great operas and underground dance parties. Traveling to Berlin demands that you abandon yourself to its pleasures and forget about how you might behave at home. Germany is Europe's capital where world affairs, realms of science, technology, commerce, arts and architecture play an important role.

Q&A - Questions and answers about Germany

  • We do not have a filter to classify schools by size.
However, you will find the information for each school in their description: when you look at the list of schools, it is right below the school name.
    Melanie Besnard, LanguageCourse.Net - Feb 23, 2024
  • There are no German language schools in Germany teaching in Japanese. Most of our partner schools use a teaching method that teaches the language in the learning language, including at the beginner level. Since the students rarely use their native language, they can expect to improve efficiently and in a short period of time.
    Andy Fukutome, LanguageCourse.Net - Aug 31, 2023
  • Yes, definitely. To do so, fill in the form on our website under 'Help & Contact' (top left) --> 'Group Discount'.

  • The teachers in our German language schools are experts and they can teach complete beginners with German. They do not use other languages.
    Sawsan Zein, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 17, 2023
  • All of our partner schools in Germany take the direct method of teaching German in the German language. This is widely recognized as the most effective teaching method for language learning.
    Andy Fukutome, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 31, 2023
  • Please note our agency is based in Barcelona, Spain, so you must tell your bank to authorize the payment. Otherwise it will always be rejected because in most cases, for security purposes, banks block operations that are not carried out in the local currency of the country where the account is held.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 20, 2023
  • The best city in Germany to improve your medical vocabulary is Heidelberg. There are several schools there that even offer group courses in the field. The F+U Academy of Languages offers a very good course that will help you a lot. Please note, however, that your level should be at least B2.
    Lisa Saskia Schiwy, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 17, 2023
  • If your visa get rejected, you can cancel the course and get a refund. Except for this case, classes cannot be canceled after receiving the visa letter.

  • Generally courses with private lessons are flexible both in terms of times and dates and the topics you want to cover with the teacher.
When registering, simply indicate the topic you want to cover in the lessons, and then we will highlight it with the school so that they can find the most suitable teacher for the topic to be covered.

  • Most schools and camps accept children from the age of 6, so it is possible to send a child to study abroad from this age. However, not every parent is ready to do this at such an early age. Everything is individual and depends on both the child and their parents. We recommend independent individual trips for children from the age of 10-12, and before this age, you can go as part of a group or with your parents/parents on a family programme (an adult can go simply as an accompanying person, or can study on their own).
Maksym Sterpul, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 04, 2023
  • The standard course will help you improve your German level. It takes approximately 8-9 weeks to complete one level. There are 6 levels in the language: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. You normally have to have at least C1 level if you wish to study at a university. Therefore you might need a 40 - 45 week standard course with 20 or 30 lessons per week if you wish to reach C1 level. I do recommend you check the requirements with the university where you wish to continue your studies.

  • Please remember that it is the school, not us, that is in charge of organizing the accommodation of its students.

Families are carefully selected and controlled by the schools themselves. They have experience hosting foreign students and work with the schools on a regular basis. Homestay accommodation comprises not only of families but also of private homes with a couple or a single person without children.

At the time of booking you can indicate what type of family you are looking for, but you must bear in mind that the details of the assigned family are usually provided approximately one week before the start date of the course.

  • You can attend a language course at any of our schools in Germany, which are listed on our website. You can start a course on any Monday as you already have previous knowledge of German.
A minimum of 16 weeks (8 weeks per level) of Intensive course is required to complete levels A2 and B1. On the first day of your course you will also complete a language level test so that the school can place you in the right group.
    Irina, Area manager - Russian from LanguageCourse.net - Aug 18, 2021
  • If you have an A2 level in German you will be able to manage everyday situations with basic language skills. You reach the A2 level by following an intensive German language course for at least 8 weeks (about 4 weeks per level), provided you are an absolute beginner. If you already have some German knowledge, this could be less. Keep in mind that this is of course also very dependent on your own learning pace.
