What our students said about Chania (Crete)
When I was there, it was very hot, around 36 degrees, but that's not Chania's fault, it has to do with climate change, it was usually around 30 degrees at that time. The advantage was that the water in the sea wasn't too cold and I preferred to stay in the water.
I already knew inner city Chania. Neo Chora district is great fun base. Walked a lot and hired car in weekend to go to Botanical Gardens. Bus was not yet running due to winter schedule.
Feel unable to comment on nightlife, had visited the town before and enjoyed returning although both shops and restaurant owners fail to understand that pestering counter-productive
A beautiful little place with a historic old town with many small shops and small streets, a Venetian harbor and a wonderful soft sandy beach without pebbles!
Chania has culture, history and modern shops. The port, tavernas with great food, beaches in the middle of the city. You can find everything here!
Very beautiful city with a harbor and an old part of the city. Also good restaurants at reasonable prices; beautiful beach close to the hotel.
Excellent! Ideal for a holiday. There's a lot to do in the local area and the food is great.
Interesting, good starting point for excursions. Convenient for getting to the airport.
A beach town, on a human scale, lively despite the end of the season, peaceful.
Very nice, clear, excursions easily feasible with public transport
Most recent student reviews of language schools in Chania

I was at the language school in Chania.
I attended the school for a total of five weeks and have to say, I really did learn Greek very well there.
The teachers there are brilliant and you learn really quickly, as they try to speak as much Greek as possible with you, even if you understand almost nothing at first.
The school also focuses heavily on grammar, which I thought was great.
As a result, I now only need to keep learning vocabulary here in Germany, as I’ve already mastered most of the tenses, rules and so on.
I can recommend the school to anyone who wants to improve their Greek quickly.

What I really liked was the small class size; for example, in my class there were only two of us, which gave everyone plenty of opportunity to speak. My teacher, Marina, put me at ease right away, which allowed me to speak Greek as well as I could.

My teacher Eleni was wonderful, very personable, taught me everything well, she also speaks great German, the chemistry was right and I even happened to have private lessons because there were few students at the time and we all had different levels. All the other teachers and the teacher Effie are also very nice. The other students too. I felt very comfortable there! The week went by far too quickly. Now I just have to put what I've learnt into practice...
