Positive aspects of school
"The teachers, the office staff and all the other staff are very nice and very competent."
Negative aspects
"The toilets take some getting used to at first. Not all of them can be locked, and some are even open.
Personally, it would have been helpful to know in advance how I would be placed, even if they wanted to see how I spoke in practice during a one-on-one interview on site.
I was always in groups that were significantly above my level, which was very stressful for me. But that's more of a personal thing."
Details of the review
City/place
"A great city. Many people warned me, but I didn't have any negative experiences. There are lots of homeless people and beggars, but they're not dangerous. There are a few places you shouldn't go at night. The people are really nice, all of them. I'll definitely be back again."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"Very intense."
Accommodation
"Vanessa was very nice. The apartment was very clean. The apartment was in beautiful San Telmo. The distance to the school was ideal. I could get anywhere quickly by bus from there. It was a shame that Vanessa was hardly ever at home, as she had two jobs. That was a decision for the host family in order to have more practice. That didn't work out because of her job. Perhaps this will also be interesting for future visitors."

Positive aspects of school
"It was absolutely the right decision to do two weeks of language school at Academia Buenos Aires. We started with absolutely no knowledge of Spanish, and after two weeks of intensive courses, we are already getting by quite well on our four-month trip. The credit goes to Guadelupe, our Spanish teacher, who is absolutely top-notch! APPLAUSE! We are already considering taking further courses. Incidentally, the language school is in the best location in Buenos Aires, not far from Plaza de Mayo, and there are great, affordable apartments to rent just five minutes away."

"Our teacher was great. There were only two of us and we spoke a lot of Spanish. The school was very flexible and even the public holiday was made up. The pick-up from the airport and contact with the host family went really well."
Negative aspects
"Unfortunately too few joint excursions, the two that were offered within two weeks were great.
It would be good if the first information email included what you need to do to use public transport. Get a Sube card from the kiosk and top it up. Individualised directions from the host family to the school would also be great."

(About the question the afternoon activities and excursions offered by school, I did not do anything there, so I don't know it, but I heard from other people that they liked it)."

The other roommates had nothing to do with the school, i.e. you had little contact with other classmates, which was actually the purpose of the shared apartment! Scruffy apartment, moldy fridge. Not worth it. At least for the price!"

"I attended A1 level class. However, it was absolutely essential to review and prepare for the lessons, as the pace of the lessons was quite fast. Even if I was prepared well, sometimes I couldn't follow them. When you have some questions, you should ask a teacher without any hesitation. If the teacher recognizes you have some difficulties, he (and even your classmates as well) helps you to understand them. I was very happy with my class. You should have the solid motivation to learn, otherwise you will have a hard time there. Of course, if you devote to study at the school, you'll be rewarded. The school offers the free coffee/tea service. As the students have a break at the same time, a student room is always packed."
