What our students said about Dresden

Dresden is a city with a rich history, featuring many landmarks and interesting museums. However, if you're someone looking for nightlife and a party scene, Dresden may not be the ideal place.

5.0Kuan-Hung Taiwan

Great choice. The Elba is beautiful with stunning bike paths through meadows and fields following the river. For folks who like to cycle, this is your city.

5.0KAY

Considering the living expenses (quite high), the quality of the city is quite low. Other people said same things...

1.0Jungeun South Korea

Unfortunately, several of the major museums were closed for restoration.

5.0Cliff

Impressive cultural wealth. A real discovery! I loved my stay.

4.0Kahina Germany

I think very highly of Dresden, it is a very beautiful city.

5.0Juliette Switzerland

Interesting history and architecture.

5.0Arvid Norway

It's a beautiful, medium paced city!

I enjoyed a lot my five weeks in Kästner Kolleg. I actually could improve my German language thanks the special attention from the staff and teachers as well. It was fantastic my interaction with my classmates from many countries around the world. I could feel that students have a good atmosphere to learn and have fun.

Student support was excellent. There is a friendly, supportive atmosphere. The staff, administrative and teaching, showed flexibility and responsiveness to make the learning experience as successful as possible. Both Katrin and Patricia are excellent teachers.
Very warm, personal environment. Not 'institutional' or business-dominated.

Information about Dresden

Why Dresden? Dresden is situated in the south-eastern part of the Free State of Saxony and lies in a marked widening of the Elbe valley. It has a diverse festival culture that includes baroque celebrations dating back more than 400 years. Dresden is also home to the "Striezelmarkt", the oldest German Christmas market (founded in 1434). The abundance of woods and green spaces, such as the Grosser Garten, make Dresden one of the greenest cities in Europe.

Schaubudensommer

July 2026The Schaubudensommer collective wants to invite street artists from a wide variety of genres from Dresden, Germany and Europe to perform on the main street for three days and turn the streets into a colorful festival full of art. This event presents a first-class and unique programme throughout three days. A festival that takes place in the middle of the week, during the everyday life of the city, as an intervention, as an after-work event, as an afternoon delight, as something unusually commonplace in summer.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about German courses in Dresden

I am looking for language courses that can be paid for through Jobcentre Plus.
Jobcentre Plus offers funding for certain courses, especially those that can help improve employment prospects. However, as a rule, students have to look for suitable educational institutions and courses on their own. Basically, they need to contact Jobcentre Plus and ask them to provide recommendations and a list of educational institutions, but it is the student's responsibility to find and register for a suitable course. We will be happy to assist you once you have found suitable schools!

The evaluations by students after they complete a course is excellent. The discount for using your website is also a great incentive. It also would be wonderful if the website would include more cities and a bigger selection of schools in each city.

The service of languagecourse.net is great, I booked already 3 schools and I can highly recommend it. In fact, I tell everybody I meet on my journey in South America about this website and how well everything is organized.
Gabriele Ragger verified client
I am very satisfied. I found more/relevant information on your webpage than on the school's website itself. It is the cheapest offer. I'm going to book my next course on your site soon.
Attila Vertesi verified client

Your service was excellent, really following up and holding my hand.! My older step-brother used your service a few years ago to study Spanish in Salamanca and Granada and we found LanguageCourse.Net so helpful then as well.

Just keep up the good work. The organization is excellent, so that even less experienced travellers would feel ok to come to China. I also felt really good in the host family, they were really great!
