Price comparison: 2 week General German course
German Intensive Course Premium
This German Intensive course is suitable for those who need to bring up all of their German language skills in general, or for those who want to develop more specific skills, which can be focused on during the school’s workshop sessions. With a weekly schedule of 24 lessons, students are able to make serious progress relatively quickly, and at the same time still have some free time left over to enjoy the sights and sounds of Munich.
All participants will receive a placement test to determine which level of group they start the course in, which can later be adjusted according to their progress. The academy will provide you with a textbook, as well as access to their online learning materials. International students can make great use of the school’s help and support service, in case they ever need help resolving some kind of administrative issue.
The course also includes 2 workshops per week, in addition to the 24 group lessons.
The high season surcharge is only for courses with a duration of 1–11 weeks.

Studying German with a private teacher is the best way to quickly improve your level, and the home tuition programme offered by HLI allows you to do this while living in your teacher’s home in Munich. You will get all the benefits of your 15 lessons per week, as well as the advantages of being able to speak German with your host family during your meals, or at any other time of the day that you’re together.
Munich is known for being a particularly wealthy city in Germany, and one of the benefits of this for residents is the reliable and extensive public transportation system that’s in place, letting you get around independently when you start exploring by yourself. Some of the sights and places of interest you will find include the impressive Neues Rathaus and Marienplatz, the easy-going Hofbrauhaus, and much more. You can also look forward to the famous Oktoberfest if you’re planning on staying in Munich in October.
If you have any small issues with your home tuition experience, the school asks that you contact their Local Organiser agent in Munich, who will do everything they can to help.

Standard Course
The Standard German language course delivered by this school at their Munich location sets you up for success from the beginning. This option represents the 20 lessons per week course, and is one of the most popular modalities due to its balance of stimulating serious progress but at the same time leaving your timetable relatively open.
Every lesson lasts for roughly 45 minutes, and the groups have a maximum capacity of 12 - although in practice their average numbers are 7 people per group. Keeping classes small in this way benefits participants by letting them learn in an environment where it’s easy to speak up and be heard - especially useful when it comes to getting your burning questions answered.
Please note that the timetable of the classes can change depending on the season, so please consult the school for confirmation.

The General German course also provides 4 Special Interest Lessons, which you can take advantage of to go more in-depth with topics that you would like to learn more about.
When it comes to meals, your host family will provide you with breakfast and dinner. In most families’ homes, breakfast is taken individually, while dinner is expected to be enjoyed together. Our C1 teacher Gabriella was great. She always brought different topics of conversation and we all had to talk about it. In just one week, my German level has gone very high.

Definitely teachers - Susanne and Lydia. Charismatic, well-prepared, open, just perfect.
Conveniently located - straight after classes you can easily make great trips from HBF (Starnberger See - only half an hour with S-Bahn!). If all the teachers offer such a quality of learning - this is a perfect school! But I can only talk about C1 level. The only disadvantage for me was that extra-curricular activities are almost not working. BUT you can organise everything on yourself, so take your chance to do so.
