The organisation of the group rooms was sometimes disorganised. In my third week, lessons took place at a different address. This was only communicated at the regular address on Monday morning, which meant that lessons could only start late.

Pleasant atmosphere, we didn't take part in the nightlife, we didn't use public transport. Car parking relatively expensive. The privately rented flat had its own car parking space. If staying in summer, a sandy beach would be nice.

Accommodation: Not suitable as it is too far away! The 14 bus only runs twice an hour in the afternoon. No possibility to eat or shop in the neighbourhood.

Great location. Teachers are very enthusiastic and helpful.

The school administration is very inflexible. There are no discounts for multiple weeks unless they are continuous, and the admin fee is high.

Very friendly staff. The level of knowledge is determined in advance in writing and verbally online. This means that the courses can start on day 1. Very good introduction on the 1st day.

Negative aspekter

Course participants changed every week. In the first week I joined a group of 5 women who had already been learning in this group for 2-3 weeks. Due to the weekly change, it is hardly possible to build on skills that have just been acquired. I had booked an over 60s course on the assumption that the course would be offered for older people who learn at a slower pace. Three of the participants were between 23 and 35 years old. The school was so busy in the first week that my husband (beginner) had lessons in the morning and I (A2) in the afternoon. It wasn't so nice, but it was okay. In my course, many participants and the teacher talked at the same time in the first week. During group work, people spoke too loudly, which made it very difficult for me to concentrate and - although my hearing was still OK - I could hardly understand my partner at times.

Trieste is a very beautiful, liveable city. Colourful and lively. Only the lack of greenery in the city and the large amounts of dog faeces everywhere deducted points.

The excursions

Should remain an insider tip, as not yet overcrowded, still "normal" prices for meals, entrance fees etc.; public transport with excellent app for navigation and timetable.

Exhausting, but very good

The rooms with bathroom only had a window to the light well (no courtyard!), the rooms with shared bathroom probably only had windows to the street. All in all, the rooms are very bright. Self-catering is possible, but some things are unclear at the beginning: who buys what, e.g. toilet paper, soap, dishwasher tablets. Who takes out the rubbish and to where?

I can't really rate the nightlife and public transport. Trieste is now one of my favourite cities. I was all by myself and I felt so safe.

The teachers are excellent, definitely the best the school has to offer. They are very dedicated, polite, and high-level.

The organization of the C Course in 2 weeks was terrible. The first week I only had classes with 1 student, who was clearly on the same level as me, which was great. I asked the school to sort this out on the first day, and despite acknowledging the mistake, they didn't. I especially liked the very motivated teaching staff and the way they organised the lessons.

That the lessons took place in the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the excursions in the morning. On the first excursion, we returned at 1 p.m. and it was really stressful to get to class at 2 p.m. on time. The school is very well organised and everyone, the teaching staff as well as the administration and leisure tutors, are very nice, helpful and competent. You never feel left alone. The teachers, in my case Virginia and Lara, made the lessons interesting and also with some humour and were very patient. The school, as well as the great Dorian on the excursions, were also very nice and accommodating to the older students.

Negative aspekter

The only negative thing I found was that even if you choose a group course, if there are not enough participants, you can be assigned to a group of two or even to an individual course. Personally, I go on language trips not only to learn the language, but also to meet and experience other people. It should therefore be possible to voluntarily choose a lower level. Otherwise I would be missing an important part.

My host's home was immaculate and she was lovely. I loved having to speak Italian the whole time I was there. The only thing I didn't like was being fairly far away from the school. First week was only 2 hours per day due to low enrollment. Second week added the 2 hours of conversation, which was outstanding. I think the implementation of courses 60 plus is very good. The interests are then roughly the same. Positive aspekter ved skolen

I can highly recommend this school; their very enthusiastic management and the entire team of teachers are highly motivated, educated and in a position to teach the Italian language very well. In the future I will only book this school. A varied excursions and leisure program complete the learning experience perfectly. Here the student has the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge.

In Trieste, there are many events throughout the year, ranging from the well-known sailing regatta to many musical events. If you are interested, you should plan your language travel accordingly.

I also like the fact, that after the end of the course, the school offers the opportunity "to stay tuned" with the language via Skype. Here, too, the costs are moderate.
