What our students said about Salamanca

Even though I was there for two months, I only went out in the evening about ten times, and my impression is that the city is extremely safe. The central area is very lively, even close to midnight. There are also many events held in the squares and churches, so I believe there is plenty of entertainment available. Early in the morning, cleaning vehicles run throughout the city, keeping everything very clean. There are also many wonderful bars and cafés to explore.

4.0Chiaki Japan

We didn't use public transportation in the city, but it was difficult to find tickets for the train via the website. It turns out that there may be tickets available for purchase at the train station that you can't see on the website. We therefore had to take a costly detour when we booked tickets before departure.

4.0Jørgen Denmark

For me, Salamanca is fascinating because of the architecture and art, the living and present history everywhere, the tradition and the university (academic) atmosphere. Plus a lot of different events. So on a day-to-day basis, I think it's a place where you can live an easy, relaxed and enjoyable life.

5.0Jolanta Poland

Salamanca was awesome! It was big enough that there was lots to do, but small enough that it was easy to navigate and also very safe. The climate was also wonderful – dry but very summery!

5.0Martha

I love a smaller city, so for me Salamanca was great! It was safe, cheap and super beautiful! If you'd prefer a bigger city with more nightlife/activities than I'd maybe not recommend it.

4.0Maaike Netherlands

I had only seen pictures of the city, so I didn't actually get to know much of it until I got there. It is an interesting city with a lot of history and proud people.

4.0Anke Germany

Salamanca has a very interesting old university and public library to wonder through with amazement, as do most cities in Europe. Salamanca is not near a beach.

3.0Vikki Australia

It's a beautiful small city. The only areas I haven't commented on are ones where I've not been sufficiently engaged in to form an opinion.

5.0Russell England UK

Everything within walking distance. Never took the bus. There was a party in the first 2 weeks of September. That was also brilliant.

5.0Michael Germany

It's definitely worth staying in this city for a few days at least once to get a feel for the city's atmosphere and sightseeing.

Most recent student reviews of language schools in Salamanca

Academia Berceo

It is a somewhat smaller school, but this meant that the lessons were very individual. There were only 4 of us and we studied very intensively. The teachers in particular were very committed, friendly and fun.

The teachers and administrative staff were very kind. I loved that the school's location was in the city center, allowing me to commute daily through a beautiful neighbourhood. I'm not very familiar with European vacation schedules, so I thought August might be the busiest, but surprisingly, June and July had more students. There were many young participants attending the junior programs. Since I stayed for two months, I was able to take part in almost all the activities offered outside the travel trips.

Q&A - Questions about Spanish courses and schools in Salamanca

We are a family of 4 and are interested in booking a Spanish programme. Our kids are 7 and 9 years old, can you organize semi-private lessons for all of us?
We can organize semi-private lessons for the adults and for the kids but with different teachers. For the kids, we have a different teaching method, specific to their age.
Nuria Castro, Don Quijote Spanish Department from Don Quijote - Nov 28, 2022
How do kids manage their pocket money? I am interested in booking a summer camp for my daughter, but at that age, we don't necessarily want to give them a debit card but then what are the other options? It would be too much cash to bring along.
We understand your concern as parents, what we have done in the past is the following: the parents send us a certain amount of money, and we give the student each week (or when he or she needs it) whatever the parents have stipulated.
Sophie L'Enfant, Administration from Colegio de España - Oct 24, 2022
