What our students said about Bordeaux
Beautiful, elegant and charming city. Felt very safe and enjoyed exploring the city and nearby beaches. Would be nice to have the option to get the bus to Arcachon. Bordeaux is a great place to visit. However, it could do with more visible and thorough acknowledgement of the part it, and its citizens, took in the horrific kidnapping, raping, torture, murder and exploitation of the people it enslaved in Africa and Haiti. Questions were asked in our class about why monuments to people involved in the slave trade continue to stand.
Bordeaux is a very good city to travel to, it offers a lot of activities and there are many places nearby to visit. Unfortunately when I was there it was very hot and it was difficult to do things during the day because it was very oppressive together with the humidity. Still the experience was very positive.
Bordeaux has atmosphere! I really liked it all round: the city centre with its many squares, the beautiful architecture, the many cafés and restaurants that are always busy, the lively hustle and bustle along the Garonne.
Great city to visit - variety of monuments, good restaurants and plenty of cultural activities! You have to avoid certain places at night, just like in any other big city. Other than that - everything was awesome!
Public transport great, not expensive, beautiful city with many historical sights, many old buildings. The restaurants are expensive, like everywhere else in France... I would go there again, it's worth it!
Lot more relaxed than Paris. Locals easy to get in touch with. Would recommend to attend to the BlaBla language exchange twice a week for practicing and meeting locals
Very pleasant, nice, helpful townspeople, easy to communicate with. Beautiful, and quite clean city. The public transport is very well organised.
Bordeaux is a very beautiful and very lively city. It has a huge number of terraces to have a drink and the people are generally friendly.
Super city. Big but very manageable with cute boutiques and bakeries. Lots of greenery in the city and lots of cycling.
A pleasant surprise. Cultural and beautiful city. Several interesting towns nearby (up to 1h30).
