What our students said about St. Pauls Bay
We didn't explore much of St. Paul's Bay, especially in the evening, so I can't give a precise judgment. We used Bolt to get around, which has a strong presence on the island but also a lot to improve: drivers who speed excessively, and if you're stuck in rush hour, you risk not being able to get back home.
A rather small town, not much going on outside the tourist season. Unlike Sliema or St. Julian's, there is hardly anything to shop for or see. But you can sit by the sea in peace and enjoy the scenery. The bus system is good, and you can get anywhere relatively quickly.
The town is well connected, as is all of Malta. Perfect for outings on package tours as well as independent travel around the island. Safe town, where you could eat well and relax by the sea.
In my opinion, the superior residence was nice, but is far away to the school. There were no shops or supermarket nearby and public transport in Malta is horrible.
Personally I think the island is too crowded, too many cars and residents. It was impossible for me to rent a car or bicycle because it was too busy on the road.
There's not much going on at the moment, so it looks a bit dirty and many streets and houses are broken. There is a lot of building going on.
I am very thankful for the special time I was given as all of the time is my own. I am even grateful that I was able to study at night.
It is a place for cheap tourism, but it is good for learning English.
Very pleasant town with excellent transport links.
I recommend! A quiet resort, friendly to tourists.
What language school directors said about St. Pauls Bay
St. Paul’s Bay is an ideal base to explore the island with excellent bus links to Valletta, Sliema and Mdina. The best beaches on the island are also an easy bus ride away. Mellieha has a fine sandy beach with water sports facilities and cafés. The sea is shallow and clear making it ideal for children. Golden Bay nestles below rocks and is a wonderful spot to have something to eat and watch the sun set. For those who enjoy a slower pace and quieter nightlife, then St. Paul’s Bay is ideal. If you want to enjoy the bright lights of Bugibba or Qawra both are within walking distance. The beaches and the main towns are all easy to reach using the cheap and regular bus services.

Most recent student reviews of language schools in St. Pauls Bay

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, as it was off-season, there was no suitable group for me. I was placed in a rather weak A2 group, which was very boring at times. Even though I may not have learned that much new, just speaking constantly was very beneficial.
Every day, you could book paid excursions through the school, which were well-organised and really great – but there was nothing organised by the school itself. A discussion evening or a film evening or something similar would have been excellent.
