May 2017The lilac is the official tree of the city of Sapporo, its blossoms mark the arrival of spring and the end of a cold winter. Odori Park, with more than 400 lilac trees, is the site of the festival. There are concerts, an outdoor tea ceremony, local foods and many lilac-themed events.

Jul. 2017 - Aug. 2017Occupying a huge portion of the lovely Odori Park, this month-long festival has beer on tap from both national and international companies, large and small. There is food and snacks, drinks other than beer, and plenty of sun.
