One for teenagers aged 13 to 17 years and one for pre-teens aged 8 to 12 years.
Loxdale loves teaching and inspiring young learners who come from around the world to learn English and about British culture and traditions. This course is designed to be interactive and enjoyable and aims to ensure you become confident in speaking English and are pushed to achieve your potential within all English skills.
The school offers one of the most comprehensive programmes in the UK and included everything in the courses fees so parents can rest assured that their child has plenty of fun things to do in a safe and caring environment. As well as afternoon and evening activities every evening Monday to Friday, we also take students on trips both on Saturdays and Sundays. Students are all given a weekly bus pass.
The hosts live within a 26 minute walk from the school. If they live further than 10 minute walk from the school, students are taken home by minibus, taxi or coach after their evening activity so we know that they are safely home at night.
English lessons
The school runs a popular, fun and academically rigorous course for both age groups. Both age groups have enormous potential as learners, and our lessons harness that through a wide range of fun and educational classroom activities of shorter duration, supported by a clear daily routine of learning. Suitable for all younger students of English, whether as an introduction to the language or as extra study for those talented students who already have a good level. In class the teachers make use of specialised EFL learning material and also use realia so students make the most of their stay in the UK. Loxdale even teaches the students about the places they will visit at weekends and various aspects of British culture and traditions so they learn more than just English.
Loxdale English Centre has the experience to make sure all students fulfill their learning goals while having a fun and memorable experience.
Welfare
The pre-teens are supervised by the teachers and staff at all times to ensure their safety and security whilst studying with at the school.
Students aged 12 year old can walk to and from school if they have their parent’s permission. They will not be allowed to walk around Brighton/Hove/Portslade at any other time without a member of staff.
If a pre-teen student is living with their parent, the parent is expected to bring their child to and from school each day. The staff will go through their programme with you so you know what times to meet him/her.
Students aged 8 to 11 are not allowed to walk anywhere off site without a member of staff, or with their parent if they are also here. This means that, if your child is living with one of our homestay providers, they must have a daily transfer (at extra cost). This transfer will pick them up in the mornings, take them home after the activities and then bring them back for the evening activity and back home.
All parents fill in a Safeguarding Form and e-mail this to the school before their child arrives at Loxdale. This gives the school information about their health and well-being.
Apart from occasionally at bedtime, it is rare to get students who are homesick. The school deliberately keeps students as busy as possible with a fully inclusive programme of lessons, activities every afternoon and evening (Mondays to Fridays) and trips on Saturdays and Sundays so they don’t have too much time to miss their homes.
Loxdale English Centre provides a safe, well-structured and lively environment where there is plenty of laughter and fun.
Social Activities
After their morning classes, the students then continue to have fun on our afternoon and evening social programme.
There is mixture of interesting and enjoyable art, crafts, drama, team games, visits and sports activities. All are supervised by lively and caring staff with good staffing ratios. The school keeps the staff to student ratio low to ensure that can pay individual attention to the students and make sure they are getting the most from the activity.

Using educational devices such as Sphero Robots and GPS technology, players will get to explore the ways in which football and science work together.
All of the activities and coaching are conducted in English in a multinational environment meaning that students will primarily communicate in English throughout their stay. The course is a complete package with morning football sessions every day (Mon - Fri) which take place on the Community Pitch at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre in Lancing and 15 hours of English classes at BLCI (Mon - Fri).
All players receive the official training kit of AITC and will also have the opportunity to visit the American Express Community Stadium, home of Brighton and Hove Albion FC for a VIP tour.
Football training takes place at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, a new state-of-the-art facility that opened in September 2021 in addition to the Y-shaped building which accommodates the club’s professional and academy teams on separate wings. The new facility houses the women’s first-team, academy and staff, as well as providing a changing facility for Albion in the Community’s community pitch.

My daughter is only 14. Do you organize travel groups from the city of origin?“If the airport pickup is booked - some schools do not include it in the junior packages - the school will send you a voucher with all the information once you provide us with the details of the flights.
Normally, a representative of the school waits for the students in the arrivals hall, which is accessed after collecting the luggage and drives them to the accommodation assigned by the school, the details of which you will receive a few days before the trip.
On the day of return, the school representative picks up the student at the accommodation and will accompany them until the time of check-in. From that point on, if you want your kid to be accompanied by an adult until boarding time, you must contract this service through the airline in charge.
Students travel by their own means; we do not organize travel groups.”Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.net - Feb 23, 2022FAQ about Junior (<18 years) courses in England UK
