HLI offers this Spanish home tuition programme on a 15-hour-per-week basis, in which the student moves into their teacher’s home in Alicante for the agreed period of time. The lessons are entirely tailored to the learner’s particular needs and objectives, ensuring that participants get the maximum value out of their time and effort learning Spanish in this way. Apart from that aspect, students on this programme will also spend considerable time speaking in Spanish with the host family during the meals that they provide, or even while enjoying the activities that Alicante offers residents. Alicante already has a large international presence, so you won’t find it hard to fit in and make connections after you get settled in. This is a city that offers a more laid-back lifestyle than some of the larger Spanish cities such as Madrid or Barcelona, but while still providing all of the opportunities for entertainment and outdoor activities that contribute to a good standard of living. In the case of having any issues relating to your course or accommodation, you will have the option of requesting assistance from HLI’s Local Organiser staff in Alicante. This option includes 20 language lessons per week in the mornings plus afternoon activities and 2 weekend excursions.International Summer Camp for teenagers aged 11-17 years, interested in coming to Spain to learn Spanish, English or French and having fun doing sports or artistic/cultural activities together with teens of the same age from different nationalities. Moreover, they’ll be able to meet other international students also staying at the same residence. The main objective of this camp is that our participants have a great time, while they learn and enrich themselves by socialising with young people from other countries and by discovering a different country and culture. The participants have 4 hours of language lessons every morning, from Monday to Friday. Afterwards, they will join the campers of our English, Spanish or French Summer Camp to spend the rest of the day together. In the afternoon they’ll have fun by practising sports or preparing a piece of theatre-musical, among other activities. Alicante has a fantastic Mediterranean climate and the Summer average temperature is 30ºC. For this reason, our campers will enjoy the beach and the swimming pool very much. Furthermore, at the weekends, they will do fun and interesting excursions to the best places in the province. They are permanently accompanied by 24 counsellors, who are taking good care of them and safeguarding their safety. The ratio is 1 counsellor for 10 participants. Every activity aims at promoting the interrelation between all the boys and girls, guaranteeing cross-cultural communication and avoiding separate groups per nationality.
