You will be immersed in 15 hours of private one-to-one classes every week, and the rest of the time you will be able to communicate in German with your host family, or with the Cologne locals while you’re enjoying the city. When it comes to places of interest, Cologne is most famous for its spectacular Gothic cathedral. Where you’ll get to know the city better is the Old Town area, where you can get a sense of traditional German architecture, and enjoy a chat with your friends and host family in the sun. The Belgian Quarter is where you’ll find all manner of entertainment, including live music, theatres, and trendy cafeterias and bars. Your host family provides your daily meals, letting you focus on enjoying this immersive experience. High season surcharge for this course (01 Jul- 30 Aug 2024) is only applicable for bookings with a duration of 1–11 weeksIn the Intensive Course, you will learn German for your work, studies, school or simply for yourself. If you do not yet have any knowledge of German, you can register for one of our beginner courses. If you do have prior knowledge, you can start your course every Monday. The school's varied leisure program complements your lessons in the classroom with excursions to nearby cities and regions. Outdoor activities, visits to museums, cooking together or games and cinema afternoons are among the most popular activities. The minimum age for the German Intensive Course is 16.

My partner and I are planning to take up 6 months German language classes. We'd like to understand what would happen if we began our classes with you, paying for the 6 months in advance for in person lessons and then when perhaps having to relocate away from Cologne half way through classes due to employment. Are we able to move to complete our lessons elsewhere? Can we refund the remaining lessons if needed?

“It's not possible to cancel and receive a refund once the course has started. However, most schools allow students to postpone the course and continue the classes later. You may also consider booking a course at a language school that offers courses in different cities. I can highly recommend you the Tandem school in Cologne. They also offer courses in Hamburg and Munich. If you wish to change location it's usually possible. If you are not sure if you'll be able to finish the course in Cologne you can also consider booking a course for less than 6 months and extend it in case you decide to stay in the city. ”
