Location: Centro Studi Italiani is situated in the Italian city of Genoa. Not far from the central area of the city, the school is close to the port of Genoa. The city’s main attractions are all within walking distance from Centro Studi Italiani.
Getting around: The school has a large selection of public transportation connections close to the building. There is one metro line running through the city, and the school is just over a five minute walk from the Darsena Metro Station. There are plenty of bus routes that stop close to Centro Studi Italiani, so it is possible to reach all areas of Genoa from the school.
Course selection: Centro Studi Italiani offers all levels of language courses, opera and dance programmes, arts & crafts courses (cookery, art, ceramics,etc.) and cultural tours of Italy. Centro Studi Italiani is also a partner of prestigious international universities offering academic and non-academic courses in Italy. The programmes are therefore flexible, adaptable, varied, rich and unique. Classes are intentionally small to allow students to best relate to each other while enjoying personalised and individual attention from teachers.
Additional information: There are a number of extra services available at the school that students may need to study in Italy including visa assistance, residence permit assistance, medical assistance and the Student ID.

“The strong point of the school is the teacher Giada who did a very professional job. She was pedagogical, interactive with good methods, exercises, reviews. She managed the group and class situation very well and took into account the development needs, skills and strengths of the individuals. However, do not have experience with other teachers than Giada. Very good behaviour also with the administration.”

The teachers are young.
Do not expect to get any books, they'll just give you printouts during the lesson.
The school organized very few free activities.... to meet other students. Do not agree to live at Mura delle Cappucine 38 ... it's not really clean there and they won't prepare your room for your arrival.

Other comments: The teaching is traditional, with a lot of emphasis on grammar and written exercises. I would have liked a specific conversation session every day, rather than just having some conversation built into the general morning programme.

“I was there for 2 weeks in November/December. Therefore, the classes were very small, 2 or 3 students. The level of the class was higher than mine, but they offered me a lot of help and options to learn. I had a great and ambitious teacher who invested time and energy to answer questions. I learned a lot and could have learned more if I had invested more time and energy but Genoa is a very interesting city! You can learn in 2 weeks as much as in 6 months in evening classes as home.”

Other comments: Placement is by a written test; I think it would have been better if there had also been an oral & comprehension portion.
The App. Luzzetti (monolocale) is not a one bedroom apartment but rather a one room apartment w/separate bathroom. The "bed" is a sofabed - no wifi so had to use the school's wifi.
