“The downtown location and the school is always open. The teachers are helpful and welcoming. The secretary's office is very helpful”
“Very few inclusive and socializing activities. Only one in two weeks.
Very high prices for individual tuition. I was disappointed by the school that I was not notified that the day was closed for a holiday that fell on my first day of school. I found out by accident and luckily I asked, otherwise I would have gone to the school and found no one. And then they also could have given me back the money for the day that I paid for and didn't do.”

“The afternoon lessons were in groups with varying levels of English, which was sometimes difficult when doing exercises in pairs and groups. But this was not a big problem. I understand that this was due to organisational reasons.”

Insider tip: “You can book great excursions at the school - highly recommended.”
Details of the review
Quality of teaching / language progress: The course was great and a lot of fun. For me personally, the part in the morning was more relevant, as knowledge was refreshed again during this time (prepositions etc.). Therefore, if I were to do a course again, I would rather stay a week longer and only take the morning classes.Other comments: I felt very welcome - all the teachers are very nice and well organised.

“I felt very comfortable in this language school. Small class sizes, different levels, very friendly and open-minded teachers. The teachers rotate so that I also had the pleasure of being taught by different teachers. Everyone has their own methods and approach. I not only learned English there, but also a lot about the country and its people and this has not been limited to Ireland. The classes are mixed differently: different backgrounds, different cultures, different mother tongues. Through the group work, you have the opportunity to learn about all these, to get into conversation and make friends at the same time.
The school itself offers various leisure activities and additional hours. Bus tours can also be booked and paid for at the school.”
Insider tip: “Book market "Charly Brown", bus tours, pub Quays with fantastic music and great atmosphere.”
Details of the review
Quality of teaching / language progress: Small classes; no frontal teaching, but active teaching, in which the student is encouraged and challenged through diverse group work; constructive feedback.

“The location”
Insider tip: “The classrooms are quite small”
Details of the review
Other comments: I enrolled for the 2-week CLIL course starting the 11th of July and you sent me to a teachers' refresher course the first day. The 2nd day I asked for a change and you sent me to a CLIL closed group that had started the previous week. The following week new students arrived and the teacher more or less started again with the lessons. My teacher Julie is an excellent teacher, very professional and well prepared, but because of all these changes I felt I had not taken advantage of this course and in my case it´s not worth the money I paid. I have been taking teacher training courses for ten years, and this is by far the worst of them. For the money I paid I was really expecting a good social program and more choices of learning activities in the afternoon.

If not, they will not be allowed to enter the class which will affect their attendance negatively. There is a Student Noticeboard located in the school where students can buy and sell course books.

Payments for VISA reuqiring students must be processed by TransferMate only.

"Dirty bathroom, no flexibility. We were treated like children, not as guests who paid for food, too. Being at home at 6 o’clock when you are an adult and school finishes at 4.30, also it is a long distance! Ridiculous. But if you were not at home by 6, you didn’t get dinner. She played for it, I guess.

The homestay with a single room and private bathroom description tells me that the distance to the school is 20 minutes by public transport. I wanted to know if this applies to all accommodation with this option or if it refers to the fact that the furthest accommodation you can get is a maximum of 20 minutes by public transport from the school.
“Most of the accommodations are about 20-25 minutes away (some on foot others by public transport) from the school.
Obviously during the high season it cannot be guaranteed that all accommodation will be within this distance as availability obviously tends to decrease, but the school always makes every effort to find families within this distance.”
Antonio Zoppo, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Jan 10, 2023
