Location: Select English Summer Centre is located in the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds. The junior camps take place within the beautiful grounds of Culford School set in secure parkland across 480 acres. Culford school is only 30 minutes away from Cambridge and 1 hour from Stansted. Select English Summer Centre Culford features excellent sporting facilities including a Sports & Tennis centre, two dance studios, an indoor and outdoor pool and a new fitness room amongst other facilities. There is also a library and studio theatre on campus.
Programme content: The summer programme for Teens and Young Learners at Select English Summer Centre consists of learning English through topic based lessons and project classes. Projects may include surveys of Select English staff or members of the public and creating a school magazine. The programme also includes drama classes where all students will participate in a farewell production for the rest of the school.
Performance Tennis: Students at Select English Summer Centre also have the opportunity to add Performance Tennis as an extra curricular activity. Training will take place at the world class tennis facilities at Culford School with fully qualified instructors.
Social and cultural: The programmes at Select English Summer Centre in Bury St Edmunds include a fun-filled social and cultural programme which may include workshops, sports, arts and crafts and talent shows. Excursions can include trips to London, Cambridge, Warwick Castle, Pleasurewood Hills or Norwich.
Accommodation: The boarding houses where students will reside are located just a 5-minute walk from the main school. Each house has its own common room and bathroom facilities. Meal times will be shared in the school's main dining room. Young Learners will stay in either twin or triple rooms, or dormitories with students of similar ages and diverse nationalities.
School chain: Select English has been offering English Language teaching to international students in Cambridge for more than 30 years. It is an independent-run school offering courses to both adults and young learners.
