The goal of LSF’s Standard French course is to equip students with the tools they need to expand their knowledge and skills across a broad range of areas, including: listening comprehension, oral expression, reading comprehension, and writing.

A constant theme throughout the course will be using aspects of French culture to supplement the learning that takes place in the classroom, such as topics related to current affairs, social norms, and debates about any range of subjects.

There is constant monitoring of your progress, as participants are expected to take a test every week to closely measure your progress - and to highlight any strengths and weaknesses you might have in your work.

Lessons are scheduled either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on availability. Morning classes typically run from 09:00, while afternoon classes take place from 14:30. Students are assigned to a timetable and cannot choose their preferred schedule.

This course includes the Intensive Course of 26 group lessons plus 4 private lessons per week.

Juniors with an artistic flair will have the unique opportunity to participate in a one-week filmmaking training. Coached by professionals from the audiovisual industry, students will learn the basics of the art of filmmaking, from script to screen. Delivered entirely in French, this optional module not only nurtures creative talents but also provides an immersive way to boost their language skills, making the process of learning French engaging and fun.

This workshop is designed for budding filmmakers eager to explore the fascinating world of storytelling. Participants will embark on an exciting journey into the world of filmmaking, discovering the essentials of storytelling and shooting techniques. Guided by top cinema professionals from ESMA, they’ll explore screenwriting, script analysis, and the art of cinematic framing.

Hands-on activities include creating film mockups with their phones, experimenting with lighting and set design, and collaborating on scenes brought to life through professional editing. By the end of the workshop, students will have created their very own mini-short film to share with pride.

This immersive experience not only hones technical skills but also nurtures creativity in a collaborative environment. With access to industry standard tools and guidance, participants will gain practical insights into filmmaking while sparking their passion for visual storytelling. It’s not just a workshop, it’s a chance to turn imagination into a cinematic reality!
