What our students said about Montpellier

Montpellier is a top city. It is the right size. The city centre is mostly car-free or almost car-free. So it's great for pedestrians. There are many old buildings and small winding streets to discover. The people have all been really friendly and helpful, even with very little knowledge of French (A1). Food and drink can be found in all price ranges, even for those on a tight budget (student city). The Mediterranean is not far away. The Cévennes are also recommended for a 2-day trip at the weekend. There are also organised day trips at weekends. The language school itself offers 1-2 activities per day, but depending on the time of the course, you can't always take part in all of them. For those who don't like the summer heat, I can recommend October.

5.0Lars Germany

The city is beautiful, with a small old center. You can inspect everything in 3-4 days. There are two buses to the beach nearby. The beach is gorgeous, better than in Nice, very similar to the beaches in Goa, in India, where there is a place for everyone. The sea is calm. There are a lot of strange people (young Frenchmen) in the city on the streets, such as homeless people with dogs, asking for money. Sometimes you get the impression of a slightly dirty city. I was not returning home late and had no problems.

4.0Yulia Russia

I liked Montpelier, it’s a very walkable city. I spent a lot of time exploring the area between the school and thé Croix d’argent area. I felt quite safe walking home. The tram ride was quite convenient, but I preferred to walk. I didn’t do a lot of sightseeing because I was studying and I can’t go at night because I can’t see very well.

5.0Frances Clare Canada

City is vibrant and full of activities, well connected by means of transport. As cons, reports from more students of episodes of harassment and an attempted pickpocket from two drunk guys. Smell of urine and vomit from the night before fairly common unfortunately, in the city center.

4.0Jacopo Italy

Well the school location is Amazing, just in the heart of the city in the way that I've imagined, surrounded by very French 18 century Palace Particulaire that I love. Public transport to get into the school from where I was living was great and very efficient.

5.0Anderson Brazil

Very nice city, but one week is a bit short to get an overall impression. Struggled a bit to figure out the public transport system (buying tickets on train/tram). Bolt worked fine, but is expensive in the long run.

5.0Edel Norway

Clear efforts to create a livable city (pedestrian zone, public transportation, bike paths, etc.). Rather unpleasant: city could be cleaner, especially annoying the plague of pigeons and dog excrement everywhere.

5.0Maria-Elisabeth Austria

I really liked the city. Both the old town and some neighbourhoods with modern architecture are very beautiful. Montpellier is also a good starting point for excursions in the surrounding area.

5.0Dietmar Germany

Great for a city break loads of history art and festivals. There is also great surrounding countryside. It’s a shame however that the beaches are not more easily accessible.

5.0Marie-Clare England UK

Honestly goes for most towns / cities but it's quite dangerous to go back home any later than 1 am if you're a woman. Also, I've heard from people who got robbed quite easily.

The teacher is a charming, friendly and competent individual who was able to provide excellent support to the native English-speaking students with some prior knowledge of French, helping them to improve their French. She also handled the numerous technical issues that arose with great skill. She covered all the learning content she had planned for the four weeks.

I am planning to attend the French course in September. My husband would also like to spend the time in Montpellier but he doesn't want to participate in the course. Is it possible for him to stay in your accommodation with me?
In general, the accommodation offered by the schools is reserved for students. If your husband does not wish to attend a course, I suggest that you both look for accommodation on your own, and book the course with us only.
Melanie Besnard, LanguageCourse.Net - May 15, 2023

The evaluations by students after they complete a course is excellent. The discount for using your website is also a great incentive. It also would be wonderful if the website would include more cities and a bigger selection of schools in each city.
