Pay less than booking at the school
Home Language International: HLI places students in Nanjing in the homes of qualified teachers, where they live, learn, socialise and interact. Each programme is fully immersive, giving students valuable one-to-one tuition and "real life" interactions and exchanges in Chinese. HLI has many hundreds of teachers around the world, ensuring students receive tutors best suited to their individual needs and development. Chinese lessons are generally on a one-to-one basis from within the teacher's home. Activities, excursions and social events, such as mealtimes with the host family, are all part of the fully immersive learning experience that HLI offers.
Course selection: HLI (Home Language International) China provides fully immersive language courses suitable to students of all levels, necessities and ages. Programmes include a set amount of Chinese lessons per week, course material specific to a student's level and needs, full-board accommodation within the teacher's home and activities and excursions, according to the course type selected. Programmes are suitable and available to children, teenagers, adults and professionals. Available course types may vary depending on the location, but generally include Chinese for Business, sports orientated study holidays, Exam Preparation, Specific Learning programmes tailor-made to a student's needs, Teacher Refresher courses, Senior programmes and much more. Accommodation, activities and lessons are also all available individually.
Methodology: HLI programmes allow students to immerse themselves entirely in Chinese for the whole duration of their learning programme. Students' practise their Chinese during their lessons, free time, daily routines, and social activities such as mealtimes in the teacher's home. This one to one attention allows students the best opportunity to learn Chinese at the pace best suited to their needs and goals.
Tutors: All teachers are highly qualified and experienced. Students are matched with tutors according to their needs, course type, expectations and requested location.
Facilities: All host families (teachers) provide students with full-board accommodation with a private bedroom, study area and free WIFI.
Accreditations: HLI (Home Language International) is accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC).

Before you get started, you will communicate the topics that will be covered in your 15 hours of private classes every week, and then Study & Live in your Teacher's Home will make their best effort to assign you to a teacher and family that are the most suitable match for what you’re looking for.
The programme provides you with a unique opportunity to immediately apply your language skills through engaging, activity-based learning. This hands-on approach, with the addition of activities, allows you to reinforce and practice what you've learned in class while immersing yourself in real-world situations.

Standard arrival and departure on SUNDAYS.
Two students with the same language level, sharing the lessons and generally also a room: up to 20% discount, depending on the type of course and the duration of the stay.
If you do not arrive at the airport indicated on your family profile or if you arrive/leave the host family before 8:00 or after 20:00 charges will be increased. A supplement may be charged for late arrival and UM services (unaccompanied minors) if there is a lot of waiting time.
SUPPLEMENTS:- Any booking which includes Dec 24th, 25th or 26th (Christmas) or Dec 31st or Jan 1st (New Year) or Nov 25th (Thanksgiving): USD 200. If the stay includes both Christmas and New Year, the supplement is charged twice.
- Close supervision (the teacher or an adult member of the family is at home at all times when the student is there): USD 170 per week. Compulsory for students aged 13 or under, optional for students under 18.
- VIP programme (especially designed for people who would like a superior standard of meals and accommodation and a private bathroom): USD 400 per week.
- The organisation welcomes students with physical disabilities (such as vision or hearing impairments), emotional or behavioural disorders (such as ADHD) or learning difficulties (such as dyslexia), provided the organiser is notified in advance. A supplement of USD 170 per week may be applied.
Students must insure themselves against illness and accidents to themselves and third parties.
Students aged 15 and under must book 2-way airport transfers unless they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

I am looking for a language course in Nanjing. Can I come with my parent/friend/partner? Do they have to take classes?
“Yes, you can come with someone. You can come with a friend that has the same level and wants to take the course with you. You will then benefit from a 20% reduction each. If the accompanying person does not want to take the course, they will need pay for their stay. Students aged 4 or over get a 20% reduction off the price of the programme. Children under 4 years old get a 75% reduction.”

When do the Chinese classes take place?
“That usually depends on the programme, but classes are normally from Monday to Friday. There are generally no classes during the weekend, other than activities. This does depend on the host. ”

This programme consists of private lessons tailored to your needs and interests, accommodation in a private bedroom (Sunday to Sunday) and 3 meals per day with the host family.
You can customise your stay by booking additional lessons, activities, and courses for specific purposes, paying an additional fee to have a private bathroom, as well as airport transfer services.
