What we like about the school
  • Courses 100% personalized to your needs.
  • Excellent for improving conversational skills in limited time.
  • Interacting throughout the whole day in the language you want to learn will accelerate your progress.
What we dislike about the school
  • Due to the personalized nature of these programs they are more expensive than other courses. Ideal for students with limited time who can afford the higher costs.

Home Language International: HLI places students in Ragusa in the homes of qualified teachers, where they live, learn, socialise and interact. Each programme is fully immersive, giving students valuable one-to-one tuition and "real life" interactions and exchanges in Italian. HLI has many hundreds of teachers around the world, ensuring students receive tutors best suited to their individual needs and development. Italian lessons are generally on a one-to-one basis from within the teacher's home. Activities, excursions and social events, such as mealtimes with the host family, are all part of the fully immersive learning experience that HLI offers.

Course selection: HLI (Home Language International) Italy provides fully immersive language courses suitable to students of all levels, necessities and ages. Programmes include a set amount of Italian lessons per week, course material specific to a student's level and needs, full-board accommodation within the teacher's home and activities and excursions, according to the course type selected. Programmes are suitable and available to children, teenagers, adults and professionals. Available course types may vary depending on the location, but generally include Italian for Business, sports orientated study holidays, Exam Preparation, Specific Learning programmes tailor-made to a student's needs, Teacher Refresher courses, Senior programmes and much more. Accommodation, activities and lessons are also all available individually.

Methodology: HLI programmes allow students to immerse themselves entirely in Italian for the whole duration of their learning programme. Students' practise their Italian during their lessons, free time, daily routines, and social activities such as mealtimes in the teacher's home. This one to one attention allows students the best opportunity to learn Italian at the pace best suited to their needs and goals.

Tutors: All teachers are highly qualified and experienced. Students are matched with tutors according to their needs, course type, expectations and requested location.

Facilities: All host families (teachers) provide students with full-board accommodation with a private bedroom, study area and free WIFI.

Accreditations: HLI (Home Language International) is accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC).

Come and study Italian with a private teacher in their home, in Ragusa (Sicily). You will receive 15 carefully and professionally planned one-to-one lessons per week in your teacher’s family home, where you will also benefit from the family’s conversation in Italian, as well as their native cultural knowledge. Having an Italian family accompany you during your first time living in Italy will help you understand some of the cultural differences that might exist between Ragusa (Sicily) and your place of origin.

One of the first areas you will check out should be the historic centre since this is where the vast majority of sights, shops and entertainment options are located - however just be aware that this is the area with the most international visitors, so if you want to be immersed around Italian speakers then you may wish to hang out in the San Salvario area of Ragusa (Sicily).

You will be able to contact HLI’s Local Organiser staff who work in Ragusa (Sicily) if you ever need to raise an issue regarding any aspect of your experience with the programme, so you will always have assistance on hand.

100,000+ happy clients since 1999
The evaluations by students after they complete a course is excellent. The discount for using your website is also a great incentive. It also would be wonderful if the website would include more cities and a bigger selection of schools in each city.
Basil Havens verified client
The service of languagecourse.net is great, I booked already 3 schools and I can highly recommend it. In fact, I tell everybody I meet on my journey in South America about this website and how well everything is organized.
Gabriele Ragger verified client
I am very satisfied. I found more/relevant information on your webpage than on the school's website itself. It is the cheapest offer. I'm going to book my next course on your site soon.
Attila Vertesi verified client
You're just great, doing a fantastic job. I'll be back in a couple of weeks and be booking my next stay abroad with you again (as always).
