Known as the heel of Italy, the province of Apulia rests at the South East of the country. The most notable part of the region is its beautiful coastline overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The Gargano Mountain and National Park, Grotte di Castellana and the Torre Guaceto marine protected area are a variety of things to see here. The regional capital city of Bari is found in the middle of the province. This historical city boasts remarkable buildings such as the Basilica San Nicola, the Castello Normanno-Svevo and the Catedral basílica de San Sabino. Another notable relic of the past is the Castel del Monte in the small village, Andria, inland from Bari.
