Spanish + Peruvian Weaving Workshop
Includes 2 3-hour lessons and a field trip.The rich colors and intricate designs of the traditional Peruvian weavings are some of the most beautiful hidden secrets of the vast Peruvian culture. All weavings play an essential role in the community traditions of Peru, such as courtship, marriage, childbirth and annual celebrations.
In the unique Spanish courses & Culture in Peru, the school offers a Peruvian Weaving Workshop in Cusco where you will discover the amount of work and devotion that is dedicated to the fabrication of every piece. Experienced Peruvian artisans will teach you traditional weaving and knitting techniques, most commonly using simple handmade looms. Surely but slowly, you will learn how to weave these kinds of textiles.
On Saturdays, there is an opportunity to visit a local community in the surroundings of Cusco, nearby the village of Pisac. The women here are happy to share the extensive weaving process, such as shearing the sheep, cleaning the wool, spinning the yarn, dying the fabrics and weaving the cloths. You also see the various native plants used for the dying and see the different types of threads used. This spectacular field trip shows you first-hand all aspects of this complex art form.

Spanish + Excursions
This course includes 15 Spanish lessons per week as well as excursions.Spanish + Excursions start weekly, with a first-week Spanish group course and tours in and around the city of Cusco. Get to know the stunning Inca Ruins in the surroundings, such as Sacsahuaman, and visit the Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun and typical neighbourhoods such as San Blas. The first weekend, you travel to the Sacred Valley of the Inca’s where you will visit the traditional villages of Pisac and Chinchero, which all have marvellous Inca ruins, colourful markets and beautiful scenery. In Ollantaytambo, you take the train to the fabled and magnificent Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu.
During the following (long) weeks, you explore the Peruvian Jungle and Lake Titicaca while enjoying activities such as cooking workshops or river rafting. In week 2, you travel by bus to Puno and Lake Titicaca, where legends state that the first Inca emerged. Here you will visit the Floating Uros Islands of and the Islands of Amantaní and Taquile, where the people still have a distinct and unique lifestyle.
Spanish + Excursions includes 40 hours of Spanish instruction (a combination of group and individual lessons) and several afternoon tours and weekend trips.

Spanish + Spirituality
This course includes spanish lessons, daily activities (lectures, excursions) and Spiritual Salkantay Trail.Discover the fascinating beliefs of the Inca people. Peru and Cusco are believed to be some of the most spiritual places on earth. In this Spanish course, you can learn more about yourself through meditation, ceremonial activities and the rituals of the Andean world. A highlight of the program is a hike of meditation through the sacred mountains by following a spiritual Inca route to Machu Picchu, an area of intense magnetism guided by a shaman (Andean priest).
Other activities include a ceremony of coca reading, a “Baño de Florecimiento” (purification bath) and a “Pago a la Tierra”, whereby we will make offerings to create harmony with the Andean deities. Yu will also visit the well-preserved ruins along the Inca Trail and gain further understanding of symbolism.
