Venue: The city of Augsburg is an optimal location for a German immersion programme; it is charming and not over large. DID Deutsch-Institut’s Junior Centre Augsburg is located in the cozy heart of the city, only a 5-minute walk from the main train station. The historic centre of this city which began as a Roman colony in 15 BC, is also within easy walking distance from the school.
Programmes: DID Deutsch-Institut offers programmes throughout the year for young students who want to improve their German skills. With courses starting at the beginner level and up to C1, teens can participate in DID’s seasonal all inclusive programmes, in Summer, Winter, Spring or Fall. These German programmes include a wide range of activities and excursions as well as accommodation.
Fun fact: One of the most historically significant cities in Germany, Augsburg is home to the oldest public housing complex still in use today, the Fuggerei, founded in 1516.
Getting there: Augsburg is only half an hour by train from Hamburg. It also has its own airport (AGB) which is less than a 20 minutes’ drive from the school and is serviced by several major airlines.
