Price comparison: 1 week General Italian course
Reviews by former students who attended a General course in Rome
Very good methods that are motivating because they are not error-orientated; teachers with experience and the right judgement as to when what help is necessary and when what level is possible

The atmosphere in the school is very pleasant and you feel right at home. The teachers, secretaries and cafeteria staff are super helpful and friendly. The leisure activities were especially great, very varied and you saw/learned a lot. It's also easy to make contacts quickly.

The teachers were friendly and there were always so many activities to do.
The price of EF programs are not justified however they do still provide a great experience, the cost is just too high considering

Super nice, enthusiastic teachers, many young students (but there is also a great community of older ones!!), varied lessons where you talk a lot and have fun. Well air-conditioned, nice afternoon activities, good flats and a great location very close to Termini. I enjoyed my time extremely!
super nice terrace to sit outside, great community and super teachers! There's also a really tasty cafeteria!

I will start with good things: the location is great, facilities, office staff are very nice and helpful and the activities are great. However, my ultimate favourite thing was the bar. Food at school was amazing, very tasty and well priced.
Unfortunately, I was not happy with the quality of teaching. The method they use just does not work for everyone. If you like structure and to learn basic things at the beginning then this school is not for you!
I was in the A1 group. The teacher should have taught us basic things like: an alphabet, how to introduce yourself, how to say I, you, she, he, we, they.
We were repeating some conversation without understanding the words (or seeing the words, just repeating from listening) or repeating phone conversations. That was extremely pointless at that stage when I just want to know basic things. I would not have a conversation on the phone with anybody when I am just starting to learn Italian. But it would be nice to know how to say: ''Hi, How are you?'', ''I would like to order....'', and ''Can I have a bill?''. I spoke with few teachers about my concerns but I was just told to have a faith in the method.
I paid for two weeks but lasted a week and half. In my second week, I just lost all hope that they will teach me properly and I left. Also, some teachers have a bit of attitude. I had a very unpleasant incident with one teacher and that just cemented my decision to leave. If I can't even ask a question, what is the point to stay? I feel that I chose the wrong school and that I just wasted 2 weeks and a lot of money. Probably, I would learn more by myself by just watching videos on Youtube.
P.S. I speak 3 languages so I know how it is in different schools.
