Location: Tamwood Junior Summer Camp New York is a junior summer residential and day camp located in the unique New York City, USA. Housed within Fordham University, in a residential area close to the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Gardens, the school's central location provides students with many opportunities for social and recreational activities.
Course selection: These residential programmes are available for 1-4 weeks during the summer months for students aged 11-17.
Social and cultural: Each programme is full of evening and afternoon activities in addition to weekend excursions for those on the residential programme. Activities within the full-camp programme can include exploring the many sites of New York, such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park, MOMA, Times Square and more. The school also runs a well-structured activities programme for students to interact with their peers and practise their English. This can include on-campus creative, sports, team building or STEAM exercises.
Accommodation: Accommodation is residential in a shared room and washroom facilities. Typically there will be 2-3 bedrooms per room.
There is always a live-in Tamwood member of staff to look after the campers 24/7, in addition to the campus security. A keycard is required to enter the campus building and the student's rooms. The Fordham University security staff are stationed in front of the residence between 10 pm and 6 am every night.
