Location: Active Language Learning is located in the coastal town of Dun Laoghaire, 12 km south of the Irish capital city, Dublin. The school is a moment's walk from the coast and is within walking distance of shopping centres, a cinema, several green spaces, a world-famous marina, theatre and many cafés, pubs and restaurants. Dublin city centre is just a short trip away, with bus routes readily available for regular transport to the city. The school is also within a 5-minute walk of the LexIcon Library and Cultural Centre, which is the largest public library in Ireland!
Course selection: Course selection at Active Language Learning offers something for adult and junior students alike. Adult courses in General English and Exam Preparation (IELTS, CAE, FCE) are available throughout the year, with specific junior programmes scheduled during the summer months.
School facilities: The school consists of two adjoined buildings, fully restored and purpose-built for teaching. Facilities include a cafeteria, library, computer lab, free after-class language learning software, a lounge area, a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of Dublin Bay and a student support desk for any questions or queries that arise. All classrooms are equipped with heating and have ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.
Social and Cultural: Active Language Learning is in a great location with many extracurricular activities such as golfing, walking, sailing, shopping and more, all on the school's doorstep.

One of the best ways to learn English is through an Irish homestay. Carefully selected families, living near the center, host students year-round. They offer private bedrooms and warmly welcome students. Executive Homestays with private bathrooms are also available.
The accommodations manager visits each family and monitors feedback from students. Full family details are provided before arrival, and contact is encouraged to establish social goals. Full board includes breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner, along with hot water, laundry facilities (excluding dry cleaning), and general family living amenities.

One of the best ways to learn English is through an Irish homestay. Carefully selected families, living near the center, host students year-round. They offer private bedrooms and warmly welcome students. Executive Homestays with private bathrooms are also available.
The accommodations manager visits each family and monitors feedback from students. Full family details are provided before arrival, and contact is encouraged to establish social goals. Full board includes breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner, along with hot water, laundry facilities (excluding dry cleaning), and general family living amenities.

I am interested in the intensive course at Active Language Learning, Dublin. Does the course only take place in the classroom?
“Monday to Friday 3 hours of international class each morning. Then Tue, Wed & Thurs afternoons there are extra one-hour classes in conversation English and everyday English which the student can also join. Mondays and Fridays are free but if tours are happening on those days there are no entry fees and the students can join as well.”

“The Work & Study programme is for students that need a Visa to enter Ireland. The course is not available for students that wish to book short term courses.”
