To the North of Germany is the state of Hamburg, which surrounds its namesake city. It rests on the River Elbe and has a large number of canals running throughout the region. This has resulted in Hamburg being the city with the most bridges in all the world. Hamburg is a modern city with interesting visitor attractions including the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the busy nightlife area of Reeperbahn and the Miniatur Wunderland model railway exhibit.
