Venue: Torquay International School is located in the town of Torquay in the county of Devon, on the English Channel. Torquay is about equidistant from Plymouth and Exeter and just east of Dartmoor National Park. The school is a short walk from the centre of town where students will find excellent restaurants and shops of all kinds. The Torbay area is famous for its varied coastline of cliffs and sandy beaches and there are many attractions which include Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, Babbacombe Model Village and Paignton Zoo which includes a botanical garden with rare specimens.
The School: Torquay International School was founded in the 1970s, with more than 50 years of experience, they offer students exceptional teaching quality and a vast array of courses. Torquay International School provides personalised service and small classes ensuring that their students can focus on and achieve their goals. Their course syllabus includes many options and intensities for General English classes as well as specialised programmes such as: English for Lawyers / TOLES Exam preparation; English plus Golf; and English plus Wellbeing. They run a Discover Devon Programme for mature students at various times of the year, an English for Families Programme and also a Young Learner Programme for Teens almost year-round.
Getting there: The Torquay Railway Station is just a five minute drive from Torquay International School, which has direct connections to London Paddington Station. Travel time between Paddington and Torquay is around 3 hours. The best airport for arrivals in London is Heathrow where students can catch the express train to central London’s Paddington Station. Coach service is also available from Heathrow to Torquay. The closest major airport to the school is at Exeter, forty kilometers away, and train travel from Exeter to Torquay takes approximately one hour, or forty minutes by car.
