Venue: DID Deutsch-Institut’s residential summer camp in Frankfurt is based in a building near the city’s downtown core. Travel to all the major attractions that Frankfurt has to offer is quick and easy; less than a block away from the residence there are connections to train, tram and bus lines. The famous Römerberg square is 17 minutes away by tram. As part of the summer programme in Germany’s “Mainhattan”, students will explore popular spots around the city accompanied by school staff; like Germany’s biggest skatepark, next door to the European Central Bank.

Getting there: Frankfurt am Main has the largest airport in Germany (FRA), hundreds of flights arrive there every day from around the world, and it is less than 30 minutes from the camp by train or 20 minutes by car. The main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is also within walking distance, or a 9-minute tram ride away.

The Summer Camp: The international students who attend the camp reside, study and eat in one building. German classes are generally held in the morning and afternoons are dedicated to exploring the city and activities. City excursions can include visits to museums, to a university campus, a behind-the-scenes tour of a large enterprise (like, for instance, the airport), as well as site-seeing and shopping. On weekends students travel to nearby cities such as Heidelberg, Würzburg or Rüdesheim for full-day excursions.
