Venue: GT Educational Center Downtown is located on Chicago’s well-known Michigan Avenue, named after Lake Michigan which is only a short walk away. Right in the heart of the downtown, the school is an easy walk away from the Art Institute of Chicago as well the extensive green space along the lakeshore which includes several parks, the Adler Planetarium and Shedd Aquarium on Monroe Harbor. Up the avenue from the school, across the Chicago River, students will find the Magnificent Mile, where all of Chicago does its shopping; though there are also plenty of restaurants, shops and shopping malls right nearby the school.
Options: English classes at GT Educational Center can be General with different levels of intensity, or focus on TOEFL exam preparation, Business English, or University Preparation. The school also offers a class in Advanced Vocabulary and Idioms and an Advanced Skills programme which further improve a student’s ability to integrate into living, studying and working in English. In addition GT Educational Center runs a unique American Discovery group course which focuses on Academic English through American cultural studies.
Experience: GT Educational Center has a history that goes back almost 30 years. Established in 1995, the school takes pride in offering quality English teaching in a diverse environment with students from more than 40 countries who regularly attend their school. Their teachers are highly qualified and also sympathetic to the experiences of students who travel abroad to learn a new language. Class curriculums incorporate intercultural awareness through collaborative learning.
Getting around: The school is within walking distance from three train stations, the closest of which is Museum Campus/11th Street, as well as two subway stations: Harrison and Roosevelt.
