What we dislike about the school
- Younger students should consider that the average age of students at this school is significantly higher than at most other schools.
Location: Kaplan International English Liverpool is based in Liverpool city centre a short walk from the main shopping areas and tourist attractions. It is situated within the Cotton House Office block. The streets around the school are lined with shops, restaurants and bars.
Getting around: Fifteen minutes from the school is the central train station. This has lines to local cities such as Manchester as well as southern cities including London and Birmingham. The centre of the city is easily walkable, and for those trips further outside the core, there are plenty of bus routes and stations dotted around.
Local attractions: A number of attractions are found along Liverpool’s waterfront. This included the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, Tate Liverpool and The Beatles Story Museum. The waterfront is just over 15 minutes from Kaplan International Languages. The Anfield Stadium, home to Liverpool’s football team, is on the outskirts of the city, 25 minutes by public transport from the school. The Liverpool Cathedral is a nice 25-minute stroll from the school, and takes you through other interesting neighbourhoods in the city such as Ropewalks.

Nationals from USA do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 16. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.
