- Average age of students is a bit higher than at most schools. Great for students 25 years or older.
Location: Ailola Spanish School Otavalo is a Spanish language institute located in the bustling Ecuadorian city of Otavalo. The school is housed in the city centre, within walking distance of amenities, links to public transport, shops, supermarkets and green spaces such as the Loma San Vicente Park, the Parque del Condor, Pucara Alro and the Peguche Waterfall.
Course selection: In addition to General Spanish programmes, which are available to students of all levels over several schedules and intensities, the school also provides Travel Spanish, private and semi-private courses. An immersive programme of lessons and interaction with the local indigenous community is also readily available throughout the year, as are travelling classroom programmes where students may explore Ecuador, the Andes, the Amazon and the Galapagos Islands, should they choose.
Social and cultural: The school is within walking distance of the Plaza de los Ponchos, where the famous Saturday Market takes place each Saturday. Here, students will find the garments and clothing the city is famous for and it gives a great opportunity for students to speak and interact with the local population. There are several parks and animal centres within walking distance of the school also, and the Imbakucha (Lago San Pdero) is only a 15-minute taxi away from the school.
Accommodation: The school offers a range of accommodation facilities, including homestay with local families and infomration on third-party hostels and hotels.
