Venue: Avenue English Johannesburg is an English language institute located in the bustling and grand city of Johannesburg, South Africa. The school is in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, in the Bohemian and affluent Sandton neighbourhood,Rivonia, around a 17-minute commute via public transport, or a 15-minute taxi ride, from Sandton City shopping Mall.
Getting around: There are several bus routes within walking distance of the school, ensuring that the city centre and its attractions are within a 35-minute journey of the school via public transport.
Course selection: Students over sixteen and of all levels can study General English over several schedules and intensities. In addition to this, private tuition is also available online or in person. Private tuition may also be used for Exam Preparation (IELTS, KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, TOEFL, Pte).
During the summer months, courses and private tuition may also be available to students from twelve years, subject to availability and upon request.
Social and cultural: The school is well versed in the happenings and social and cultural attractions of the city and is happy to guide students in their plans to create a memorable and fulfilling time whilst in Johannesburg. Such attractions recommended by the school can include the Apartheid Museum, Gold Reef City, Soweto & Mandela Museum, Wits Art Museum, Market Theatre and a variety of day trips and excursions.

“A modern, clean school with a super personable manager and such friendly and good teachers. The friendliness of everyone is infectious. The mornings are taught by the book and the second half is all spoken. This is very interesting as different cultures talk about their different experiences.”
