Location: International House Oaxaca is located in the historic city of Oaxaca, Mexico. Housed in a 16th Century colonial building in the city centre, the school is close to several resturants, shops, gardens, art galleries and attractions such as the Andador Turístico, Zócalo Oaxaca, the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, the Mercado Benito Juárez, Plaza Santa Domingo and much more.
Course selection: IH Oaxaca provides various courses for learning Spanish, suitable to students of all levels and various necessities. In addition to General Spanish programmes, the school also provides lessons in Business Spanish, Medical Spanish, Mexican Cooking and Latin Dancing. There are also Discover Mexico programmes that allow students to discover the cultural wonders of Oaxaca whilst learning Spanish.
Getting around: The school is housed in downtown Oaxaca, with many of the city's main attractions within walking distance. One of the best ways to get around the city is therefore by foot, yet buses and taxis are also readily available, although they are not known for their efficiency.
Social and Cultural: IH Oaxaca provides several options for social activities, including dancing and cooking classes.
Accommodation: The school offers accommodation in Homestay, Student Residence, Furnished Apartments and On-site Apartments, catering to the needs of all students.
Additional information: Oaxaca city is unique in its surroundings, located amongst mountains and home to a vast amount of archaeological sites. The city has a rich culture, with over 16 different ethnicities.

“Even though I was only there for one week, I noticed the teachers were kind, and I had a great time. I was surprised to learn on the first day that the school would be closed on Thursday and Friday for Semana Santa. While it caught me off guard, I was glad they offered us special classes.”

- Monte Albán: In this activity we will take the bus that takes us to Monte Alban and returns, here we will visit the museum and later we will walk through the ruins.
The tule tree: To visit the tule tree we have two options, in the first we will rent a bicycle to be able to get to the town along the cycle path so you will have to wear comfortable clothes, sunscreen and bring water to hydrate yourself, since there are 20 kilometers in total in one flat surface. The second option is to take the local bus to get to the town.

"The showers only provide 20 minutes of hot water after you indicate that you want to use them. I wasn't aware of this on my first day, so I had to endure cold water. It took over 30 minutes to walk to the school, and getting to the city center was challenging because it took an hour to return. I enjoyed breakfast, as it was different every day. I don't fully understand Spanish, so communication was a bit difficult. However, the rooms were very clean and nice.
