Location: Augsburger Deutschkurse is nested in the small city of Augsburg, northwest of Munich. A 10-minute stroll from the school through the historical quarter of the city will find students in the centre of Augsburg. Around the school, the streets are lined with restaurants, cafes and shops for students to frequent during their stay.
City transportation: Although the city of Augsburg is small enough to walk around, there are public transportation links that stretch throughout the city. The city is home to an intensive tram line, and the Staatstheater tram stop is a short walk from the school’s entrance. For trips to surrounding cities, students can take a train from the main Augsburg train station, just ten minutes from Augsburger Deutschkurse.
Course selection: The school offers an intensive German course, which can be taken all year round. In the summer months, Augsburger Deutschkurse offers lessons and activities as well as a classic German course. All courses were developed to meet the requirements for levels between A1 - C1. The school and its experienced language instructors maintain a balanced flow of conversation, listening comprehension, grammar, writing, reading, and communicative games, films and German newspapers which aim to guarantee effective learning in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Accommodation: Homestays are available for students who want accommodation whilst studying at the school. This allows students to have an immersive experience whilst in Augsburg.
Additional information: The Augsburger Deutschkurse enrollment package includes a walking tour of Augsburg, plus a guided tour of the magnificent historical sites, old town and churches. Evening activities such as bowling or Salsa dancing classes ensure that all students maintain an engaging experience.

“There were short courses available as well as long courses. It was great that the students could join the course in the middle of the month, not only at the beginning of the month. Since there were almost no Japanese or people who could speak Japanese, it was lucky that I was in an environment that inevitably required me to speak German.”
“Maybe all language schools are the same, but at least in my class, we had to raise our hands to speak up. People from other countries are fairly active, so I felt that I could not improve my conversational skills unless I voluntarily spoke up.”

“The school is always active. Even in Spring, there about 7 or 8 groups on mornings + afternoons. The method is based on 2 Books + audio-cd. It's old but it works.”

“I liked my teacher - a German woman, who could skillfully organize the work, the discipline in the classroom and, moreover, she helped me to write Beverbung. Unfortunately, she was on vacation most of my time at school. I lived in an apartment of an absolutely amazing elderly frau; living conditions, food and atmosphere were wonderful”

“I was really enjoying the lessons during the first week. Our teacher was Edda and I have never before had a better language teacher. I met a lot of interesting people and made friends.”

Other comments: I did not like that the first two days. I was in a class of 20 people. I thought that a language course would a maximum of 10 students and not more. I paid for a one-on-one course and I do not understand it why I was in the class with people who were refugees taking the same course paid by the state. So I transferred to another course where there were about 6 people. Among the teachers, Edda was the best and teacher Christel was the worst. Other people were also not satisfied with her. She taught anything and her way of teaching was really unpleasant.

“Classes are Monday through Friday, 8:45 – 12:45. There are no afternoon classes and no activity programme in our intensive courses.”

“The B2 and also C1 courses are special courses in collaboration with the German government. It is therefore not possible for a private language student to join these courses. For private students the school only offers courses from A1 to B1 level.

I would like to know the refund policy in case of non-approval of the visa
“In the event of a visa refusal, this school has accepted our exclusive policy of withholding only a minimum amount to cover administrative costs (EUR 180 max.). The remainder is fully refunded upon presentation of the visa refusal document from the embassy, which must however be sent at least 1 month in advance, which is why it is very important to allow sufficient time for your visa application, usually at least 2/3 months before the start date.”
