Venue: ELS Los Angeles County is run from the campus of the University of La Verne, east of the city of Los Angeles. The city of La Verne, with its quiet and friendly charm, contrasts sharply with high energy Los Angeles. ELS English classes are attended by students from around the world, but when class is done, they all have access to the great facilities on campus: library, sports facilities, etc, making this a great location for students who want to integrate with native speakers. La Verne is bordered to the north by the foothills of the majestic San Gabriel Mountains and it has one of the lowest crime rates in the area.

Courses: ELS Los Angeles County offers a variety of English programmes, including various levels of intensity of General English, English for Executives and their American Explorer programme designed for students who want to improve their English skills part-time while exploring the nearby area and attractions.

Further studies: ELS has many partnerships with Universities and Colleges in the area, including the University of La Verne, and their programmes are designed to ensure that students can fulfill the language requirements for conditional admission.

Getting there: While there is a small airfield very close to the University, the main airport for international students is LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) which, if traffic weren’t an issue, would be under an hour away by car. But Los Angeles is notorious for its dense traffic and actual travel time can take up to 3 hours.
