Location: EF International Language Center Tamarindo Beach is located in one of the world's hotspots for eco-tourism, Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Housed in a renovated colonial building, bordering lush forest, spectacular beaches and surrounded by wildlife, EF Tamarindo Beach offers a unique experience to all. The school is central to the town, only a short walk from the beautiful beach of Tamarindo, where students can find bars, markets, active nightlife and multiple resources for partaking in local activities such as sailing and scuba diving. The school's garden and outdoor swimming pool allow students to relax as much as study, ensuring that all students feel welcomed and comfortable at all times. Students of EF Tamarindo Beach are sure to have an excellent time whilst meeting their language goals.

School facilities: The facilities of the school are fantastic, offering everything a student may need to reach their language goals, from a comfortable and motivating environment. These facilities include a large garden area with multiple locations for sitting or lounging, an outdoor swimming pool, several terraces, a cafeteria, a computer lab, games tables and a Student Support Desk for any questions or queries that may arise. All classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.

Accommodation Accommodation is available on-site with the school, a former resort hotel with a private pool and easy access to canopy tours, rainforest waterfalls and the leatherback turtle nesting grounds of the Parque Nacional Marino Las Baulas. Alternatively, local homestay and hotel facilities are also available.

Generally, course material has to be purchased by all students at the school. The costs of course material will be approximately €70 per course level.
Comments about courses

The cost of course materials vary depending on the duration of the course:
1-9 weeks: EUR 80
10-18 weeks: EUR 145

Exam Courses (Any Language): EUR 60

Cancellation Protection fee: EUR 85 (Non-refundable).

Students must book travel insurance, which covers the whole period of the course and stay in Tamarindo Beach. Students can book Erika Insurance Coverage via the school:

  • Two weeks: EUR 85.
  • Per additional extra week: EUR 40.
    Students can have another insurance but they must prove they have booked another one.

    Accommodation:
  • The twin room homestay included in the tuition price can be upgraded to a single room homestay for EUR 55 per week.
  • Homestays are no further than 45 minutes by public transportation from school.
  • Residence accommodation is also available upon request and subject to availability.

    Special dietary requirements will cost EUR 50 per week.
    Classes are likely to take place on some days in the morning and other days in the afternoon. Students will be given the exact timetable closer to the start date. These are sample times and may change depending on availability and time of year. The 26 lessons is likely to follow the 20 lessons per week structure with the extra six lessons taking place after the morning classes or before the afternoon classes, two lessons on three days. Classes should fall somewhere within this timeframe.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 120 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
