Location: Lexis Japan is in the Chuo Ward of Kobe, to the south of the city. The school is in an excellent location within the area, close to a transportation hub, a large number of shopping options and a short walk to the waterfront. There is a vibrant feel in the neighbourhood, with lots of local restaurants and a busy nightlife.
Travelling around Kobe: 5 minutes from the school by foot is the Motomachi Station. This train station has a number of lines running through it that stretch across the city. There is an extensive bus service throughout the city, and a number of stations are close to the school. A 10-minute walk from the school brings students to a prominent part of the city.
City features: Habourland is an important feature of the city, filled with shopping options and entertainment features. This is ten minutes by train or 20 minutes by foot from Lexis Japan. The school is right around the corner from Kobe Chinatown Nankin-machi, and Kobe Port Tower and Meriken Park are just 15 minutes away.
Course structure: Lexis Japan has group Japanese courses and private classes in Japanese. There is a teen programme for junior students.
Services: The school has a student service desk to help students with any issues they may have during their stay. There are homestay advisors to support students through their accommodation option.

Other comments: The school sign could be improved. It is not visible from the outside of the building that the school is located here. It is a small "side entrance" and therefore difficult to find the first time. Very, very quick teaching, so that it was sometimes difficult to keep up. In the full-time course, the afternoon block is used to address these doubts. That’s very good. The website does not state that English language skills are a prerequisite. The material is taught in English (my school English was - thank God - enough!).

Other comments: The summer courses are too full, at least at the beginners' level (up to 20 participants). It's best to learn the Hiragana and the Katagana alphabet in advance. The beginner courses are very mixed in regards to the level of the participants, and with zero previous knowledge, it becomes difficult.

The homestay accommodation organisation is doing a poor job. I spent 5 days in the living room sleeping on an air mattress, waiting for an US student to leave. My host didn't have enough keys to give me one in the beginning, I always had to wait for the other residents to arrive to able to enter the house after class (wait 30 minutes in front of the house in crazy hot temperatures).
I wish I could get a financial compensation (I mean my parents).
