Course: Intensive Japanese (20) - 2 weeks
Student age: 51 years
Very, very nice staff. I felt very comfortable. Bright, light-flooded rooms. On the last day there was a farewell ceremony with all participants of the school, during which the certificate was handed over and a group photo was taken.
The school sign could be improved. It is not visible from the outside of the building that the school is located here. It is a small "side entrance" and therefore difficult to find the first time. Very, very quick teaching, so that it was sometimes difficult to keep up. In the full-time course, the afternoon block is used to address these doubts. That’s very good. The website does not state that English language skills are a prerequisite. The material is taught in English (my school English was - thank God - enough!).

The teachers and the entire staff are probably made up of the nicest people I have met. That applies to most Japanese people, but the school staff really deserves a special mention. A pleasure both in and outside of class. The classmates were also all super nice, sociable people.
Super accommodating. I forgot to transfer the balance. Lexis let me sort out financial matters during the stay, which took several days.

Location in Kobe, quality of education, teachers are very professioal
31 October 2018
Course: Intensive Japanese (15) - 2 weeks
Student age: 53 years
The teachers are very open and friendly. The school is located right in the center in a modern building.
The summer courses are too full, at least at the beginners' level (up to 20 participants). It's best to learn the Hiragana and the Katagana alphabet in advance. The beginner courses are very mixed in regards to the level of the participants, and with zero previous knowledge, it becomes difficult.

Events in Kobe
January 2025The Kobe Luminarie is perhaps the high point of Kobe’s annual events. Kobe festival of lights is, above all, a tribute. On January 17th 1995, a huge earthquake hit Kobe city. Buildings and roads collapsed, 6,000 people died, and thousands more were injured. In the city, destroyed and grieving, two men – one Italian and one Japanese, had the idea to illuminate the city to help restore hope to the people. The Italian government donated thousands of lights and thus the Kobe festival of lights was born, called Luminarie (the Italian word for light). It is one of the oldest celebratory light displays in Japan.Beginning directly beneath the Lexis Kobe campus building and stretching through the streets around, the Luminarie festival usually attracts between 3 and 5 million people in the space of ten days. With thousands of tiny bulbs arranged on frames in various patterns and designs, Japanese and Italian artists have created tunnels of light, towers and cathedrals that sparkle in the winter night.
