Tasmanian College of English (TCE) Hobart is an active Landcare member recognised by the Hobart Council with various awards in recognition of their services to the Tasmanian environment.
Location: TCE Hobart is located on the fascinating island state of Tasmania, Australia. The school is housed in a residential area, with an environmentally friendly campus and gardens. Only a 10-minute walk from the centre of Hobart, the school is close to other schools, the university, the market, cafes, eateries, the popular harbour area and more.
Social and cultural: TCE Hobart has its own "Club TCE" for social and cultural activities. This is a fantastic way for students to get to know their teachers and peers. Club TCE consists of inexpensive fun, which includes social activities and excursions with a teacher's assistance. Activities can include trips to the harbour area, the MONA Museum, national parks, movie nights and sporting activities. Local attractions include the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Cascade Brewery, Bonorong Park Wildlife Centre, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, the Salamanca Markets and more.
Getting around: The public transportation system (bus) is very efficient. Taxis and rental cars are also readily available. The city centre is easy to walk around and is recognised as a "safe and fun place to be.
The main bus terminal of Hobart is a 10-minute walk from the school.
