What our students said about Thessaloniki
The city has stolen my heart. It is a very large and busy city, but I could live there as long as it is outside the center. I did not take advantage of the nightlife. I rarely or never do in NL. I felt safe there, but of course I have not been in the middle of the center at night or in probably also existing lesser neighborhoods. There were beggars (handicapped and elderly) and gypsies selling or begging. For a city of this size, there were extremely few. Public transport is cheap and frequent, but a taxi is only slightly more expensive, so that is my preference. You have to speak Greek, because drivers hardly speak anything. I did manage well and never once in the city felt that I was being dropped off. The museums in the city are worth a look, but important museums like the ethnographic are not open at the specified times. Unfortunately, the musical instrument museum is completely closed to the public. You can enjoy excellent food in Thessaloniki for a very reasonable price, somewhere between 6-20 euros including drinks. The shops are expensive. Buying clothes is not a good idea, the prices are excessively high. Supermarkets have a Dutch or higher price level.
It’s a great city with plenty of sights to see; it’s a wonderful place to just wander around, enjoy good food, pick up bargains at the market, and discover lots of charming spots off the beaten path. You feel completely safe, and everyone I met was very friendly and open-minded.
Thessaloniki is a very lively, exciting port city. The city has many sights to offer. One very beautiful place is Platia Aristotelous. The Archaeological Museum, the White Tower, Hagios Demetrios, the old town of Ano Poli.
Interesting city with international flair and appealing nightlife. No hustle and bustle and friendly people. I had my bike with me and was able to ride through the city without any problems, even in heavy traffic.
Great city. Even though I was there as a tourist myself, I thought it was good that the city itself wasn't overrun by tourists. Life in the city was shaped by the locals.
Very nice city with friendly population, easy going and very good history.
City rich in history, lots to discover but quite dirty.
Everything is within walking distance. That's nice.
Top! Thessaloniki has a firm grip on my heart.
It is a lively city with a lot of traffic.
Most recent student reviews of language schools in Thessaloniki

There’s a friendly, welcoming atmosphere; all the teachers were super nice and knowledgeable, and thanks in no small part to the group activities with my classmates, I felt right at home from the very beginning. I learned a lot in just one week and met some really nice people. I highly recommend this school and would definitely consider coming back.

Ano Poli is easily accessible on foot, by metro and by bus. We were given a very warm welcome. The teachers are very nice. I really enjoyed the lessons and found them very informative. As I was the only complete beginner, I had one-to-one lessons. Christos is a likeable, competent, friendly and humorous teacher. He answered all my questions. The leisure activities on offer were very varied. For example, the visit to the Church of Agios Nikolaos Orphanos was very interesting and well worth seeing. The teaching materials are completely legitimate and help me a lot with consolidation and self-study. I would definitely recommend the school. Absolutely! I'll be back next year.
