Location: ILAC - International Language Academy of Canada Toronto is located in the culturally diverse city of Toronto, Canada. This boutique-style school has modern facilities housed in the trendy Yorkville neighbourhood close to downtown Toronto. The school is surrounded by shops, eateries, restaurants, cafes and several attractions. Attractions within walking distance of the school include Ramsden Park, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Gardiner Museum, Queens Park and much more. Casa Loma is around a 30-minute walk from the school.

Course selection: ILAC Toronto supplies courses suitable for students learning at every level, from a complete beginner to proficiency. In addition to General English courses taught over various schedules and intensities, University Pathway, Exam Preparation (IELTS, Cambridge, TOEFL), and Business English programmes are readily available throughout the year.

This school is an official IELTS test centre.

Getting around: There are several links to public transport close to ILAC Toronto. The Rosedale, Bloor-Yonge, and Bay subway stations are all within a 5-minute walk of the school's front doors. Every week we had new students coming, and some of the old leaving the group. Under this circumstance it is a good idea to take the initiative and organize meetings and gatherings with both the new and the old students.
2. Use the meetup website to practice English with native speakers.”
Other comments: I have heard about some irrational rules that some host-families oblige students to follow, for instance: Don't boil water to prepare a cup of tea during lunch time, because you are only expected to do so during breakfast and dinner. I have also heard from other students that there were limitation on using the kitchen. I think ILAC need to cover this during orientation if thinks that the host-family rules are reasonable. I personaly used airbnb, and I was extremely happy with my host, so don't forget about this option.

Generally, course material has to be purchased by all students at the school. The costs of course material will be approximately CA$25 per week.
Comments about courses

Student Services Fee includes course materials plus ILAC Essential Health Care. ILAC Essential Health Care is covered for the duration of your course (from arrival date in Canada).

Orientation will take place on the Sunday prior to the start date of the course. If the start date (Monday) falls on a public holiday, the orientation would take place that Monday. If it isn't possible to attend the orientation on Sunday, there will be an alternate orientation on the first day (in order to attend this late arrival orientation on Monday, students need to register).


Unaccompanied minor fee: CAD 180.

Custodian letter (compulsory for under 18 students): CAD 150.

Student Services Fee:
— Face-to-face: CAD 25 per week
— Online Programs: CAD 10 per week.

PAL Attestation Letters:

For 2026 PAL issuance, a registration/administration fee will be required for all students who require an Attestation Letter (PAL) as part of their study permit application.

The confirmed requirement is as follows:

CAD 500 registration/administration fee – non-refundable.

This fee must be paid in order for an Attestation Letter to be issued.

"Homestay was a bad option for me. The basement was too cool, heating wasn't sufficient and didn't work permanently. I slept with several socks and my gloves. The homestay mom didn't want to increase the degree of heating because according to her, weather was better. I am from a sunny country, and she didn't make an effort to help me. All machines in the house were in my room and made a lot of noise and distributed my sleep. i left my homestay after 18 days because i couldn't take it anymore. ILAC must do more follow ups with students to ensure their comfort in the homestays. They should also review the lunch proposed to students because it isn't easy to eat sandwich, fruit and water all time during the training. I preferred to take my dinner as lunch and I often went to sleep without eating. The meals served must be improved to allow for better living conditions. I may not have been lucky, homestay was a bad experience and I will not advise this option to my friend. The lady put my forgotten shower shoes in the hotel because she was waiting for another student. I was very fuzzy. LAC must keep in touch with students placed in homestays and make inspections in the proposed rooms.
