What we dislike about the school
- A 45 minute lesson duration is a bit shorter than normal.
Location: Dominican Language School Sosua is located in the beautiful Caribbean town of Sosua, in the Dominican Republic. The school is within a garden area, next to the coastline, in the El Batey area of Sosua. There are several bars, eateries, supermarkets and hotels nearby. The school is also within walking distance of some of the town's main beaches, such as Casa Marina Beach, Play Alicia and Playa Sosua. Additional attractions of the area include the Jewish Museum of Sosua, the Coral Reef Casino and coral reef and cave diving in Sosua Bay.
School facilities: The school has facilities that cater to the needs of students of all levels. In addition to microwave and kitchen use for the students, Dominican Language School Sosua also provides a lounge area, library, free WIFI and free after-class access to language learning software, in addition to other features.
Course selection: There are courses for students of all levels, including several specific learning programmes. In addition to General Spanish, taught over various schedules and intensities, the school also provides courses including classes in conversation, Dominican Culture, Business Spanish and Medical Spanish. One-to-one classes in DELE Exam Preparation are also readily available throughout the year.
Getting around: The school's coastal location has many attractions within walking distance. Puerto Plata International Airport is around 8km from the school, a 12-minute taxi ride.

Special note for 2027 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2027 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2026 many schools were fully booked during the holidays and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2027 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.
