What we dislike about the school
- Average age of students is a bit higher than at most schools. Great for students 25 years or older.
SMS Spanish Experience is located in the fascinating Island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Known as the "Isla de la Eterna Primavera" ("Island of Eternal Spring"), Tenerife boasts an accommodating temperature throughout the whole year and has very little rainfall. The school is housed in the central part of Adeje, in the sunny south of Tenerife. There are many charming cafés, restaurants, small shops and supermarkets close by, ensuring students have all they need to enjoy their time on the island.
The facilities of SMS Spanish Experience offer all that a student needs to reach their language goals, whilst studying in a spacious and welcoming atmosphere. Facilities include a large reception area, lounge area and a library full of Spanish literature and educational books. All classrooms are equipped with interactive electronic whiteboards and have ample natural light to create the optimal learning environment.
Course selection with the school is extensive and includes courses for Junior and Senior students at specific times of the year. General Spanish courses are available to students of all levels, throughout the whole year. DELE Exam Preparation Courses are also available and programmed with specific start dates.
Tenerife offers students a fantastic and unique backdrop for their studies. With beautiful beaches, a volcano and some extravagant hiking routes, it is an island sure to make for a very memorable time.

Special note for 2027 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2027 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2026 many schools were fully booked during the holidays and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2027 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

I am nearly 17 years old and would like to do an adult course. Can I also take part in the activities for adults?
“We offer cultural activities once or twice per week, but only for adults. If we have a parent's authorization, yes, minors can attend. As the student is almost 17, they could join the adult courses, but the students will be much older than them, between 30 and 60 years old.”

Does the Junior Intensive 10 include any activities?
“During the summer, we offer our Junior Intensive 10 courses for children from 8 to 16 years old. This programme only includes 10 sessions per week, from Monday to Friday (2 sessions of 45 minutes each per day = 1h30m). No activities nor accommodation are included in the course fees.”
