Venue: Oxford International Education runs its Junior Centre from the Campus of Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), in the heart of Toronto’s downtown area. The TMU campus is spread out across several city blocks and is well serviced by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) with subway, tram and bus stops nearby and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is a 40 minute drive away.
Housing: Students on Oxford International’s Junior Summer Programme are housed in on-campus apartment-style student residences. These all have common areas with a TV lounge and kitchenettes as well as on-site laundry facilities.
The Programme: Five days a week, students have morning English lessons followed by organised activities and excursions in and around the city. There are also full day excursions to attractions such as Toronto Islands and Niagara Falls. Students on the programme can also opt for IELTS testing.
Activities: The activity programme is based in and around the city of Toronto. Students travel around the city on foot or by public transport and tickets are provided for these trips. Typical attractions visited can include: the CN Tower; the Art Gallery of Ontario; Casa Loma; and High Park. The programme also allows for some shopping at the nearby Eaton Centre as well as games and activities at the Beach.
