Location: Clubclass is located in one of Malta's most popular tourist destinations, St. Julian's. The school is housed centrally, a short distance from several eateries, sites of interest and local attractions. Attractions within walking distance of the school include the nightlife of St. George's Bay, St George's Bay and beach, Balluta Bay Beach and more.

Getting around: The school's fantastic central location means that students are usually happy to see the sites of the local area on foot. Bicycle rentals are also readily available within walking distance of the school. For travelling outside St. Julian's, the local bus network is the best way to get around. Several bus routes are located at the Qasam bus stop, just outside the school's front doors.

School facilities: The school has many facilities to heighten a student's experience. All classrooms are air-conditioned, spacious, well-lit and have heating for the winter months. There is an outdoor swimming pool and lounge area surrounding the pool, at the students' disposal all year round. A fitness centre is also available free of charge to students aged over 18 years. The student lounge is open to all students and includes free WIFI, table tennis, snooker and foosball.

Accommodation: Clubclass offers a wide range of accommodations suitable to students of all ages and interests. In addition to the on-site residential facilities, homestay families, hostels, hotels, and a range of local apartments are also readily available throughout the year.

The Intensive General English course delivered by ClubClass Academy consists of the content of their Standard course, but with additional lessons that are dedicated to conversation practice - where students wishing to focus on improving their oral fluency can discuss and debate a wide range of topics. The aim of this course is to help students communicate, and emphasis is placed on encouraging their fluency and confidence in using the English language.

The 30 weekly lessons may be held in the morning or afternoon and will be attended by a maximum of 12 students per class - although in practice there will be even fewer in your class. The course starts almost every Monday of the year, so you will be able to get started whenever you’re ready to go.

One week is the minimum period that students can study for, and all must be 16 years of age.

"Actually the school have never had such a group and they substituted the course with a 10 lesson IELTS course, general English lessons and fluency lessons. I feel that is is not particularly fair. If I had known about this situation, I would not have selected this school because there are a lot of alternative variants in Malta. Even if you take IELTS preparation course, you will have to pass an exam. Moreover, if you fail you will have to take general English course for at least 6 weeks until you will be allowed to retake the exam. On the other hand, I believe that the teacher teaching IELTS is well-qualified and really decent person. "

Quality of teaching / language progress: The selection test was very superficial and the evaluation was not transparent. All new arrivals on the 1st day were rated at most in B2 level. The lessons are otherwise okay with a class size of 8-13 students. Many Maltese teachers, but also other native speakers (1xUSA, 2x GB).Other comments: Classes were not well mixed (many Colombians, Japanese, Turks) and according to statements from classmates this also affected their accommodation from the school, which is why there was little suggestion to speak English.

Generally, course material has to be purchased by all students at the school. The costs of course material will be approximately €110 per course level.

Amber Court can be found in Swieqi, a relaxed and peaceful town situated not far away from St. Julian’s city centre. You’ll be living in a spot where you’ll have everything you need around you, such as services like the post office and banks, and plenty of supermarket choices to do your weekly food shopping in.

The accommodation itself is practically next door to Clubclass Academy, so getting to and from your classes will be cheap and stress-free. In this building, there are 2 separate apartments that house 3 bedrooms, and another 2 apartments that have 2 bedrooms each. No matter which apartment you are assigned to, you will have two bathrooms and one shared kitchen.

Other features of interest include a weekly change of towels and bed clothing, internet access, and a TV. The kitchen comes equipped with all the utensils and materials you might need when preparing your daily meals, and all of your utility bills are already included in your fees - giving you one less chore to take care of.

Air conditioning is available, and comes at extra cost depending on usage.

Can the children attend a 2:1-course course together, despite the slightly different level?
